Liverpool have the chance to sign £22 million rated Serie A attacker: Should Klopp move in?

It’s been a pretty decent transfer window for Liverpool considering they’ve signed two classy midfielders in Naby Keita and Fabinho. However, the Reds still have some work to do if they are to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United next season.

Recent reports reveal that the Reds have the chance to sign Juventus attacker Marko Pjaca this summer. £22 million is the fee the Reds will have to pay for the Croatian attacker who could feature in the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Pjaca just had a one-year loan spell with Schalke and helped the Royal Blues finish second in the league season. Juventus are considering selling him so that they can fund the arrival of a few new faces.

Juventus have already confirmed the arrival of Emre Can on a free transfer but there have been rumours that they could make a shock move for Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

Pjaca – Fact file and what he’ll add to Liverpool?

After impressing at Lokomotiva Zagreb, Pjaca earned a move to Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb. His best season with the sides yielded 11 goals and five assists from 32 games.

Pjaca struggled to get into the Schalke starting XI on a regular basis and could manage just three starts. He had four substitute appearances as well. Two goals in seven games was a decent return for a team that played reactive football more often than not.

He was predominantly deployed as an attacking midfielder a few times. A pretty hard worker, Pjaca managed 0.7 tackles per game. He’s a pretty natural dribbler and averaged 1.1 dribbles per game.

After a season like that, where he had minimal game time, a fee of £22 million seems like a bit too much. Liverpool have one of the best attacking trios in world football in Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah and it’d be hard for any attacker to get into that team.

Pjaca has had a couple of seasons with Juventus and Schalke combined and the fact that he couldn’t push the others for a first-team place is a bit worrying.

Jürgen Klopp has managed to get the best out of everyone he has so far managed and that might eventually happen with Pjaca as well if Liverpool do sign him, but again, that’s a pretty big if.
