Everton linked with a transfer move for Brazilian attacker: A smashing move by Silva?

A new era has begun at Everton already but unlike last season, incoming transfers haven’t been as brisk as last season. The Toffees have adopted a rather cautious approach to the transfer window and after spending a lot on midfielders last season, Everton need to spend wisely and add more balance to their squad.

An ageing defence is something that needs to be looked at but if recent reports are to be believed, Marco Silva could be after Richarlison. Having signed the Brazilian whilst at Watford, Silva knows how to get the best out of him which explained Richarlison’s bright start under the current Everton gaffer.

Richarlison’s form tailed off towards the end of the season but that was sort of expected as he is still very young and Watford tend to slow down in the final few months as well.

Richarlison – What will he add to Everton?

The Brazilian he was deployed in as many as four positions at Vicarage Road and that didn’t help him settle down at the club. His best performances came from the left as he showed his willingness to take on defenders and beat them for pace.

Being a Brazilian, Richarlison has a few tricks up his sleeve and he is that player who can unlock a defence with a skill or two.

Everton have Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott at the club, but the duo are more direct in their approach, Richarlison is more of a modern-day inverted winger and at 21, he still has a lot of time on his shoulders to impress and become a household name in the Premier League.

Last season, Richarlison mustered five goals and four assists in the league. He completed a dribble every game and was fouled more than twice a game which shows how hard it was to get the ball off him.

His work rate can improve but that is something Silva can work on if Richarlison gets a good number of games to create the situation where he’ll need to track back when his side are soaking up the pressure.

Watford signed Richarlison for a fee of 12.4 million Euros and he is expected to cost at least double of that. Everton could do with a player like him as he is pretty expressive on the pitch. Considering he is still very young, he’d be a pretty wise addition to the squad.
