Everton Linked With A Shock Move For Arsenal Star: Right Choice By Silva?

According to shocking reports from The Times, Everton are keen to sign Danny Welbeck this summer in an attempt to strengthen their attacking line. The Arsenal attacker has been on the fringes lately but was a part of England’s impressive World Cup campaign that saw them reach the semi-finals.

And with less than 12 months remaining on his current contract with Arsenal, newly appointed Everton boss Marco Silva feels he can lure the former Manchester United starlet to Merseyside this summer.

Welbeck, 27, has spent the last four seasons at Arsenal after initially moving from Manchester United in 2014. Since arriving at Emirates, the versatile attacker has featured in just over 100 competitive appearances for the Gunners, helping them win two FA Cups.

However, his future with the North-London giants has been a subject of major speculation with the English international clearly expected to be on the chopping block under the newly appointed Unai Emery. The former PSG boss already boasts of the services of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, meaning the 27-year-old is less than a backup solution for Arsenal next season.

Therefore, a move away from the Emirates could prove to be a prudent decision as he aims to resurrect his career. And many believe Everton could be an ideal destination for the former Manchester United starlet.
