Newcastle United Amongst Clubs Who Should Be Moving For £16.5m Rated West Brom Striker

Having picked up just 21 points from 33 games this season, West Bromwich Albion look destined to drop to the Championship, unless Darren Moore, the interim first-team manager at the moment, can pull off a miracle late in the season. The Baggies are still 10 points away from safety and have just five games to cover that gap and do not look like doing so.

They are expected to lose a number of their star players if they do go down to the Championship and star striker Salomon Rondon is one of many, that might have a line of suitors this summer. Reports today have revealed that he will cost just £16.5m, according to a clause in his contract that will be activated if West Brom do not survive the drop. He is a proven goal scorer in the top flight and can still add a lot to the clubs in the Premier League and here are three teams that should look to snap him up:

Newcastle United:

With neither Joselu nor Dwight Gayle showing enough promise this season, Rafa Benitez is expected to be in the transfer market for a new striker this summer and Rondon will be a superb fit for the Spaniard’s system at St James’ Park. The 28-year old is an energetic presence at the helm of the attack and can easily walk into the first team and be the first choice striker for the Magpies next season. Rafa will want to spend on another exciting striker but the experience Rondon brings to the side could be crucial in tough games next season.

West Ham United:

For quite a while now, the Hammers have not been able to stick to a single striker, that can score goals regularly. Andy Carroll does not seem to be a long-term option while Javier Hernandez has not filled the fans with optimism. Marco Arnautovic is doing the best job in this role for West Ham and Rondon could take up this role in the first team next season. He fits into the style of play at London Stadium pretty well and is sure to have an immediate impact, with quality players playing behind him regularly.

Everton:

The Toffees spent on a number of strikers recently but have not been able to replace the goal-scoring prowess of Romelu Lukaku yet. Cenk Tosun has not done too badly but Everton need a goal scorer who they can turn to in tough times and Rondon is as good an option as any. He will be happy to play from the bench and can have an impact late in the game and can also lead the line on his own and can be a game changer for the Toffees.
