Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester City lineup vs Swansea City: Jesus to start up front?

Officially crowned as the champions of England now, Manchester City will be keen to keep on their winning momentum to try and breach the 100-point mark, something that has never been done in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola’s eased past Tottenham last time out but their clash against Swansea might not be straightforward as the Welsh side are fighting to retain their Premier League status.

Team News

Sergio Aguero’s season has come to an early end after the Argentine suffered a knee injury that requires a surgery now. John Stones has had too many niggling injuries lately and hence he is unlikely to feature in this game. Benjamin Mendy is close to a return, but this might not be the game for his comeback.

Formation: 4-3-3

Defence

Ederson is expected to start between the sticks. The Brazilian has undergone a good first season and he deserves to keep his spot in the team. Two regulars, Kyle Walker and Fabian Delph will play as the two fullbacks in this formation. Walker has been sensational this season and quite deservedly made it into the PFA Team of the Year. Delph has adapted to the surroundings well and has not made Guardiola regret the absence of Mendy for major parts of the season.

Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi will play as the two centre-halves. Kompany deserves to start at the heart of the defence and both combine to form a solid centre-back partnership.

Midfield

Fernandinho is suspended for the clash and hence the defensive midfielder’s spot is up for grabs. IIkay Gundogan will take his place in the starting lineup. The German is a good reader of the game and is very impactful while bursting ahead.

Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva on either side of midfield will flank him. With their exceptional passing range, vision and the thrust to create numerous goal-scoring chances for their teammates, both players have developed to become the stalwarts of City’s title-winning team.

Attack

Gabriel Jesus will replace Aguero upfront and will look to improve on his recent indifferent form. Jesus has a straight chance to play five games on a trot and will most definitely want to improve on his goal-scoring returns towards the fag end of this season.

Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane will be the two wingers in this formation. Sterling has been downright poor in the past month or so but will surely keep his place instead of an often-impressive Bernardo Silva. Leroy Sane has been immovable from the left wing due to his consistently promising displays.
