Liverpool eyeing a move for Monaco starlet: Is he the next big thing?

Ahead of a key game against Manchester City this Tuesday, the focus should be on that tie alone. But we can’t really help and shift away from that because the transfer season isn’t far away. The transfer window generates the most hype during the summer and the coming transfer window is going to be no different.

Liverpool’s transfer business under Jurgen Klopp has been better than most of the managers in recent years and one of the reasons is they’ve signed proven players who have seamlessly fitted into the German’s aggressive and free-flowing approach on the pitch.

Some of the youngsters have also done well, Trent Alexander-Arnold (from the academy) and Joe Gomez being the notable ones. Klopp is known for giving younger players a run-out and the club could see a few young players making it big in the coming years should the gaffer stay at Anfield for the foreseeable future.

While it’s important to sign your marquee first team players, signing good young players is equally important. If reports are to be believed, Liverpool are looking to make a move for Monaco midfielder Christian Koffi.

Koffi’s contract runs out at the end of June and it remains to be seen if he’d be interested in moving to Merseyside and play under the tutelage of Steven Gerrard who coaches the U18s.

Christian Koffi – The lad has got the talent…

These days, it’s so easy to get fooled by the development of supposed teenage prodigies. But a look at Monaco’s recent track record will tell you that if you have the chance of signing a kid from the Monaco academy, you shouldn’t pass the opportunity.

Before Kylian Mbappe rose to superstardom, he was scouted by a host of Premier League clubs. Koffi hasn’t shown the same progress yet, but all it takes is a brief period and he could be the next big thing or the next world record transfer in the world.

A central midfielder by trade, Koffi is someone who tends to do it all for the youth team. Not only does he start the build-up play, but he is ambitious enough to make the forward foray and play a hand in the attacking move.

His passing is pretty impressive and with someone like Gerrard around to imbibe the knowledge from. Liverpool should definitely make the move for the starlet as he has the potential to be something big in the future.
