Everton looking to sign Arsenal midfield star: A big statement of intent?

As if the January transfer window wasn’t enough, Arsenal might have to let go of another important player in the summer. Arsene Wenger’s side has regularly been hit by the departure of important players over the years.

Over the past few months, Jack Wilshere’s contract situation has been under the scanner. Largely expected to sign an extension, the English midfielder has entered the final three months of his current contract.

Reports are rife that Arsenal have proposed a contract that reduces Wilshere’s weekly salary due to his constant injury issues. However, the club has added significant performance-based add-ons in his contract too.

Still, the club and the player are yet to find a middle ground and concerns over the player’s future are increasing currently.

Is Arsenal’s loss Everton’s gain?

Like Arsenal, Everton too have endured a disappointing season so far. Despite investing heavily over the past two transfer windows, the team has failed to replicate their best performances on the field. Now, in the quest of attaining better glory and bettering their performance next season, Everton are said to be interested in signing Jack Wilshere at the end of the season.

The Toffees have shown in recent years that they have the financial muscle to compete with the best clubs in England. In a show of statement and intent, Everton will be offering Wilshere a massive signing fee of around £8 million in a bid to convince the player to join them.

A host of clubs could very likely be interested in signing the midfielder if he decided to leave the Gunners.

Jack Wilshere – Arsenal’s Gem

Ever since Wilshere broke into Arsenal’s team, great things have been expected of the midfielder. Blessed with an uncanny ability to pick the right man inside the box almost every time, Wilshere has a good passing range. His vision helps him to orchestrate the play from the midfield and every attacking move seems to flow with Wilshere at the heart of it.

Capable of playing both as a central midfielder and as a central attacking midfielder, his true potential will only be realized if he keeps fit. He’s someone who plays with a lot of passion on the pitch and any club would love to have a player like him.

The Englishman is a fan-favourite and the supporters would hate to see him leave the club. Arsenal need to keep their better players at the club, but if he doesn’t get the right contract, you can’t really blame if he moves.
