Compper To Start: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Celtic Lineup Vs Motherwell

This season, Celtic have not been able to replicate the domestic supremacy which they managed last season. However, they look set to clinch the Scottish Premiership title once again after their 2-3 win over Rangers at the Ibrox Stadium last weekend.

The victory strengthened their grip at the top of the league table and also gave them a lead of 9 points over Graeme Murty’s side. Brendan Rodgers’ men have played two games fewer than Rangers and considering today’s results, the Hoops could further increase their lead at the top of the table.

Celtic will travel to the Fir Park to take on Motherwell this Sunday in their next Premiership assignment.

Celtic Team News

The Bhoys are set to miss their centre-back, Jozo Simunovic, after he was sent off against Rangers last weekend. However, Dorus de Vries and Mikael Lustig are due to make a return to the squad.

Nir Bitton, Jonny Hayes and Craig Gordon remain sidelined owing to their injuries. Leigh Griffiths is back in training but might not be rushed into action so soon.

Goalkeeper

With de Vries back in contention to start. Scott Bain was used as the ‘keeper in the fixture against the Gers as de Vries had to sit out owing to his injury but Bain is likely to be benched this weekend.

Defence

In the absence of Simunovic, Marvin Compper is expected to get the nod to start from Rodgers. Compper hasn’t accumulated much of game time under his belt after his move from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window and he could bag the opportunity to showcase his mettle in the upcoming fixture.

Alongside Compper, we expect Kristoffer Ajer to be used at the heart of the defence. Ajer has been brilliant, more often than not, whenever he has been called upon to act and deserves to start. Kieran Tierney and Dedryck Boyata could start as the fullbacks.

Midfield

Scott Brown and Olivier Ntcham have churned a good chemistry in the middle of the park and the formidable duo is expected to once again start in front of the defence. Meanwhile, Tom Rogic is expected to operate as the no. 10 to offer his offensive abilities in the final third.

Attack

Up front, Moussa Dembele will most likely lead the line. The Frenchman is returning to his best shape and will be aiming to up his tally of goals in the coming fixtures. While James Forrest is expected to keep his place on the right-wing, Scott Sinclair might be given the nod to start on the left.
