Spanish Midfield Ace Wants Liverpool Switch: Should Klopp Make A Move?

Slowly edging their way up the PL points table, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are now one of the in-form teams in Europe and are expected to fight for silverware in the near future. But they still need to improve on a couple of positions in the squad and it will not be a surprise if they are a busy club in the summer transfer window.

Klopp has been closely monitoring quite a few players in Europe but one name now doing the rounds is Real Madrid star, Dani Ceballos.

Ceballos Prefers Liverpool Switch:

According to several reports in Spain, the Spanish youngster is frustrated with the lack of playing time under Zinedine Zidane this season and has requested the club to off-load him to Liverpool in the summer. It is also reported that Liverpool met up with his representatives in the January transfer window and that they are sure to return with a bid in the summer.

He has a £440m release clause in his current contract with Los Blancos but could be sold for less than £40m in the summer. But is the right man for Liverpool?

Ceballos And His Potential:

Having made a name for himself in the UEFA European U21 Championship, where he was named the player of the tournament, the 21-year old joined Real Madrid just last summer, in what was one of the most anticipated moves in La Liga. However, he has managed just two league starts at Bernabeu this season and wanted to move back to Real Betis, his boyhood club, in the summer.

A central midfielder, with equal attacking and defensive traits, Ceballos is a versatile player, who is as capable of dribbling past players and creating chances for his side as he is of sitting back and frustrating teams when needed. He has a gifted technique and great understanding of the game, which allows him to win the ball back quickly and set up his team on the counter.

He needs to work on his aerial prowess and strength in hold up play but his positioning and ability to turn away from danger in the middle of the park, make him a unique talent. He is a hard tackler, who rarely allows players to dribble past him and is equally adept at the other end, adding numbers to his side’s attack.

The Right Man For Liverpool?

With Liverpool set to lose Emre Can to Juventus at the end of the season, Ceballos has become an important target for Jurgen Klopp.

At just 21, he has loads of experience and potential to turn into the best in the game and playing for Klopp is certainly going to get the best out of him.
