Front Three At It Again: Liverpool Player Ratings Vs West Ham United

Liverpool continued their good form as they eased past West Ham to climb up to second in the league table. Jürgen Klopp’s side were hardly troubled by an ageing West Ham side as their front-three once again fired to get them across the line.

Goals from Emre Can, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino put them three up and though Michail Antonio pulled one back, Sadio Mane’s tap-in ensured Liverpool bettered Man United’s goal difference which means even if they draw against Chelsea, Liverpool will remain second.

Here are the player ratings for Liverpool.

Loris Karius: 7/10
Made a couple of crucial saves in the first half keeping out a brilliant Marko Arnautovic effort. Could do nothing about Antonio’s goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: 8/10
The youngster put in a brilliant performance. Industrious going forward and stuck to his task at the back, keeping Arnautovic at bay. Provided a few brilliant crosses that should have deserved better treatment.

Joel Matip: 7/10
Had very little to do on the afternoon and partnered van Dijk well.

Virgil van Dijk: 8/10
His aerial presence was fantastic both in defence and attack. A solid performance from the Dutchman.

Andrew Robertson:8/10
One of his best games in a Liverpool shirt. Spent most of the game making overlapping runs and aiding Liverpool’s attack whilst also sticking to his defensive duties. His crossing caused all sorts of problems for West Ham’s defence as he supplied Mané for Liverpool’s fourth.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 8.5/10
His game has developed hugely since his arrival and put in yet another good performance. Showed great energy in the middle of the park with some powerful running on and off the ball. Was the provider for Salah’s goal?

Emre Can: 8/10
Played the number 6 role very well. Settled the nerves putting Liverpool in front with a good header and going on to feed Firmino for Liverpool’s third.

James Milner: 8/10
Proves time and time again why he is the engine of the team. Instrumental in winning the ball back on numerous occasions. Made some crunch tackles and his overall passing was good as well.

Sadio Mané: 8/10
The Senegalese is getting back to form following his hat-trick in the Champions League following it up with another good display against the Hammers. Could have bagged a brace but was denied by the woodwork.

Roberto Firmino: 9/10
Lead the front-line brilliantly once again with his pressing and link up play. Showed great composure to finish Liverpool’s third.

Mohamed Salah: 9/10
The Egyptian cannot stop scoring at the moment with 6 goals in his last 6 games. Once again phenomenal as he showed great footwork and balance to put Liverpool 2-0 ahead following some brilliant work from Oxlade-Chamberlain.
