Tottenham Hotspur player ratings vs Everton: Son and Kane impress yet again

Mauricio Pochettino’s men continue their quest towards a top-four finish this season with a thumping 4-0 victory over Everton. After a rather balanced first half, the Lilywhites took their game to a whole different level and put Everton to the sword.

Harry Kane netted a brace and in the process reached 20 goals for the season. Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min scored the other two goals. Let us see how each Tottenham player fared in the match:

Hugo Lloris: 6/10

Lloris remained a spectator for major portions of the game and will happily accept the clean sheet.

Serge Aurier: 7/10

The Ivorian used his pace to good effect to push Cuco Martina back. He ran into the space gifted to him by Martina and Sigurdsson to assist for the first goal.

Davinson Sanchez: 6/10

The Colombian had very little to do as Everton hardly took the opportunity to push Tottenham back. Sanchez’s major involvements came when he made his way to the other half to look for potential passes inside the box.

Jan Vertonghen: 6/10

Similar to Sanchez, even Vertonghen did not face any major threat today and had a relatively quiet game.

Ben Davies: 6/10

We did not see Davies making his trademark flashy runs to the other half. He held his end strong and had a decent game.

Eric Dier: 7/10

Dier made some crucial interceptions and won the ball back diligently. He made some good passes into the box and even assisted for the fourth goal.

Moussa Dembele: 6/10

Dembele played a deeper role and partnered Sanchez and Vertonghen in thwarting away any possible attacks from the Toffees. Towards the final quarter of the game, he started making inroads into the opposition half.

Son Heung-Min: 9/10

The South Korean once again lit up Wembley with his impressive display. Son continued his consistent run of good form, as his goal, assist as well as his movement to create space for other forwards were crucial in Spurs’ dynamic play.

Christian Eriksen: 7/10

The Dane pulled the strings at the centre of the park. He moved the ball around, delivered some decisive passes and finally finished off his goal in a sumptuous way.

Dele Alli: 6/10

Tried hard to create something decisive in the final third but was let down by various aspects of his game. His finishing has gone down a notch and he needs to shift gears in the second half of the season.

Harry Kane: 8/10

Harry Kane continued his amazing form for the Lilywhites as he netted twice to complete twenty goals in this Premier League season already. His consistency makes me wonder the number of goals with which he would finish this season!
