Manchester United Handed Boost In The Chase Of £53m Rated Serie A Star: Just What Jose Needs?

According to a recent report by the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are believed to be leading the race to sign Juventus fullback, Alex Sandro, in the ongoing transfer window.

It was perceived that Chelsea were also keen to sign him but latest reports state that the negotiations have stalled over Juventus’ asking price, which makes the Red Devils the front-runners to make him sign on the dotted line.

Sandro is an outstanding left-back, who possesses notable calibre. The 26-year-old emerged through the youth ranks of Atletico Paranaense and was then elevated to their senior side.

However, it was during his spell with Porto that he drew a lot of attention from the football fraternity and in the summer of 2015, Juventus lured him into their ranks. He has been an exceptional performer for the Zebras and there exists no doubt about the same.

So far this season, Sandro has piled 13 Serie A appearances to his name, whilst which he scored 1 goal and registered 4 assists, apart from making 1.8 tackles, 0.9 interception and 1.3 clearances per game on an average and has chalked his name as one of the finest left-backs of the game at the moment.

The Old Lady have slapped a price tag of £53million on his collar and it is believed that the Italian giants would sanction the move if they receive the aforesaid transfer fee.

Manchester United are currently placed at the 2nd spot in the Premier League table with 47 points to their name after 22 games. Ashley Young and Luke Shaw have been pretty decent in the left-back position whenever called upon by Jose Mourinho this season.

However, the Portuguese wants to bring a touch of class and enhance his squad, for the red half of Manchester have domestic as well as European targets to meet in the second half of this season.

Sandro is someone who makes galloping runs forward and crosses the ball in a pretty decent fashion. He passes the ball well, is good with tackles and interceptions and is very sound in the air as well. He does not shy away from the odd physical battle and in a robust side such as Manchester United, he will find his place pretty soon.

Although the Brazilian international lacks experience of English football, he has the potential to adjust to the league, for he has plenty of experience of having played for other top clubs and if Manchester United secure his signature, it would be a healthy addition.
