Manchester United Confident Of Signing Highly Rated Spanish Midfielder: Right Choice By Mourinho?

Following the lucrative signing of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, Premier League giants Manchester United have turned their attention to securing a good midfielder.

According to reports, the Red Devils are apparently confident of signing Valencia’s highly rated midfielder Carlos Soler with Jose Mourinho looking to bring in more midfield reinforcements following the departure of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Carlos Soler, 21, has been regarded as one of the best up and coming Spanish talents in the current generation. After enjoying a breakout season with Los Che last term, the Spaniard has been a key component for Marcelino’s troops this season, making 17 appearances in all competitions.

Although currently suffering from a Malleolar injury, Carlos Soler could prove to be an ideal signing for Manchester United.

The Red Devils have struggled due to the lack of form of their midfielders. Last season’s star performer, Ander Herrera has failed to impose himself in the Premier League and has been previously linked with an Old Trafford exit in the summer. And veteran midfielder Michael Carrick hasn’t even featured in the Premier League so far, meaning they are in dire need of someone who can not only prove to be a long-term replacement for Carrick but also make a quick impact in the Premier League.

Blessed with sensational technical quality, Carlos Soler could be the perfect man for Manchester United in every aspect of the game. The 21-year-old is someone who can make a difference in the middle third of the pitch with his dynamism and pace. He is rather quick in his build-up play, which is tailor-made for Premier League’s high paced football.

Furthermore, Carlos Soler excels at passing and ball circulation, as you would expect from any Spanish midfielder. His passing accuracy of 83% is enough to suggest his effectiveness in the team’s build-up phases as well as ball circulation. He is not afraid to switch the play during the course of the build-up, which effectively creates more space for his teammates in the attacking positions.

In addition, the Spaniard is a tactically astute midfielder, meaning he should have no difficulties in getting used to Jose Mourinho’s tactical philosophy. He can either act as a number eight or a number six depending on the situation. His presence in the team will definitely allow Paul Pogba to have more freedom in the attacking positions.

Overall, the Valencia midfielder can be entrusted with the job of reviving Manchester United’s rather timid build-up tendencies in the middle third of the pitch. Therefore, the Red Devils should definitely prioritize signing the highly rated 21-year-old in the January transfer window.
