Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI Vs West Ham United: Can The Lilywhites Bounce Back?

After a somewhat shaky start to the season, Tottenham Hotspur would like to get into their groove in the match against West Ham United this weekend. Currently, the Lilywhites sit on the fifth position with eight points from five games. They need to start winning games on a consistent basis in order to catch up with both the Manchester clubs. Pochettino has built a squad worthy of competing in all competitions and would look to gain all the three points against West Ham. Here is our predicted lineup as the first team stars look set to be back after being rested for the match midweek:

Formation: 3-4-2-1

GK: Hugo Lloris

The Frenchman is an undoubted starter for both his club and country and would be looking to keep a clean sheet.

CB: Toby Alderweireld

Alderweireld leads the defence for the Spurs and is a trusted man of Pochettino. His quality is undoubted and Alderweireld will be crucial if Spurs want to stop a West Ham team gathering steam.

CB: Davinson Sanchez

The club record buy has a huge task on his hands. Sanchez needs to prove his worth and money by performing consistently for the team.

CB: Jan Vertonghen

Vertonghen is a ball-playing centre-half who likes to take the attack forward. He makes some delightful passes from his half, which helps the midfielders to feed on his deliveries. Vertonghen also adds steel to an already strong defence and would be hoping to keep a clean sheet.

RM(D): Kieran Trippier

He provides options while going forward and his constant running helps him to track back on time. Trippier helps the Spurs to use the width well and will hopefully make some significant contribution in the match.

LM(D): Ben Davies

The manager accepted his fault in leaving Davies out in the match against Swansea last weekend. In all certainty, Davies will be back and occupy his position as the wingback in the match against West Ham.

CM: Moussa Sissoko

Like Davies, even Sissoko missed the match against Swansea as the manager thought that he deserved rest. However, it is crucial for Sissoko to play as he controls the creative aspect of the game. He likes to go forward and links up well with the attackers.

CM: Eric Dier

Dier is important for Tottenham if they want to maintain the defensive stability of the side. He won the man of the match award against Swansea and would be hoping to replicate his performance.

AM: Dele Alli

Dele Alli is one of the most exciting prospects in the English Premier League and always takes his game a notch higher each week. He has benefited from the manager’s constant faith in him and would be important for the Spurs to break down West Ham’s defence.

AM: Christian Eriksen

Eriksen is crucial in the final third as his ability to make key passes into the box is amazing. He can provide some delightful through balls and is a threat from the set pieces. His central role behind the striker brings out the best in him.

ST: Harry Kane

England’s best striker will be at it again when Spurs face West Ham. Kane has looked a bit rusty in the initial matches but one can expect him to be back in top form soon. He has the intelligence as well as the experience to put behind stalemates and bring Spurs’ season back on track.
