Everton eyeing a swoop for Serie A goal-getter: The right move by Ronald Koeman?

Having lost their top goal scorer from the previous season, English club Everton are now looking to make sure that they are stacked adequately for the new campaign. Ronald Koeman, the manager, has made a number of additions to his first team this summer but is not done yet, by the look of things.

He continues to be linked with some of the finest players in Europe and the latest name doing the rounds around the Goodison Park is Fiorentina star Nikola Kalinic.

Kalinic wants AC Milan

The 29-year old was extensively linked with a move to Everton at the start of the transfer window but Koeman decided to spend on Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney as an attacker for his side. However, Kalinic is still looking to quit the Italian outfit and Everton are reportedly interested yet again.

According to reports from Italy, Kalinic wants to quit his current club but the interests from Italian giants AC Milan is reportedly exciting him more than a move to England. So should Everton continue to pursue his services?

Who is Kalinic?

Born and brought up in Solin, Yugoslavia, the 29-year old started his youth career at a local club in his home country. His first taste of top flight football came when he moved to Blackburn Rovers back in 2009 and spent two long years before he was shipped off to Dnipro.

He established himself as the first choice in Russia and in four years, turned into an established star in Europe. He was picked up by Italian side Fiorentina in 2015 and ever since, he has been their main goal scorer, helping them immensely in the previous season.

Known for his height and strong frame, Kalinic is a beast in the air and scores headers for fun. His finishing abilities are exceptional while his consistency in front of goal is commendable. With decent spatial awareness, he is a player who can lead that attack of some of the best sides in the continent and will be a smashing addition to the squad at the Goodison Park.

Should Everton make a move?

The Blues spent on Sandro Ramirez, who is expected to lead the attack for the side. Davy Klaassen and Wayne Rooney should play in the attack while Oumar Niasse is the only player that can replace Ramirez in the first team next season.

Kalinic can not only act as a backup but can also walk into the first team as his attributes will surely help him have a productive time in England. Having already tasted the English game in his time at the Ewood Park, he is a player who can turn into the first choice striker for Koeman in no time.

With 36 international appearances for Croatia, 69 Serie A appearances, 44 Premier League appearances and 41 Europa League appearances, he is an established international and at just around £22m is an absolute steal in this market.

AC Milan will be ready to make a move for him but Everton need to get this deal done as it will help them improve their creativity, productivity and numbers in front of goal.
