Arsenal still showing interest in signing PSG star: A smashing move by Arsene?

The story

North London giants Arsenal are still showing interest in adding 22-year old France international Adrien Rabiot to their current squad at the Emirates, as Arsene Wenger wants to sign more stars prior to the start of the new campaign.

The report further adds that the player is available or £20m. The Premier League giants had lost out on their place in the Champions League and will want to make an impact in the top flight of English football in the upcoming season.

Also, Wenger’s side will look to defend their FA Cup title, which has been the only major trophy that his team have been winning in recent times.

The young star is not just a target for Arsenal, but for their domestic rivals Tottenham as well. This would mean that the two fierce rivals would go head to head, with the hopes of adding this star to their current squad.

Player stats

The French international made only 13 appearances in the previous campaign, whether it has been at the club level or for his national team, which means that he has not been playing a lot of football. He has 89.5% passing accuracy, which is good for a young talent and can help his team control the play, with that.

He is a strong player, who loves to go into tackles and challenges and has good ball control as well. The only reason he was not given too many chances could be due to his lack of exposure at the top level, which might change now, if he does move away.

Deal or no deal?

Well, the midfielder is a good quality player and can add value to both the London based clubs, if he does leave France.

Arsenal are known for their interest in young players as Wenger likes to chisel talented players and turn them into world beaters. The current market scenario means there is enormous pressure on the clubs to sign readymade players rather than young attackers.

Though Rabiot isn’t exactly a readymade player, his experience of playing for a top side like PSG definitely means he won’t just be a player who will warm the benches for Arsenal and play for the reserve team.

The talent is definitely there, and PSG will have to balance the books or face the wrath of the financial fair play rules having signed Neymar for a mammoth 198 million pounds. So the ball might be in Arsenal’s court right now.
