Predicted Newcastle United Lineup vs Fulham

Bidding to reclaim the fourth spot in the Premier League table, Newcastle United welcome Fulham at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon. Since mid-December, the Geordies have been almost faultless as they have picked up 10 wins across their 11 games in all competitions. They suffered a humbling 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Bournemouth but picked themselves up with a 3-1 win over basement boys Southampton last weekend.

On Saturday, Eddie Howe’s boys will be seeking revenge against Fulham as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the Craven Cottage in the reverse fixture back in September.

Newcastle United Team News

Harvey Barnes, Callum Wilson and Jamaal Lascelles are all on the sidelines for Newcastle United, while Miguel Almiron has completed a permanent return to American side Atlanta United after six years in Tyneside.

Predicted Newcastle lineup vs Fulham (4-3-3)

Goalkeeper

Martin Dubravka made some quality saves in the previous game against Southampton and will be high in confidence heading into the game. While Nick Pope is back fit and available, Eddie Howe is expected to stick with Dubravka in between the sticks.

Defence

Fabian Schar and Dan Burn should continue in central defence, trying to keep Raul Jimenez under wraps. Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento have cemented their spots as first-choice full-backs, providing Newcastle with energy, intensity, attacking flair and defensive diligence.

Having won 3-1 at Southampton last weekend, Howe is unlikely to make alterations to his back four when Newcastle host Fulham.

Midfield

Sandro Tonali has been in superb form of late, dictating the tempo of play from the No. 6 role. He is set to continue in that position. The Italian’s presence will provide freedom to Brazilian duo Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes to venture forward and create opportunities in the final third.

The Newcastle midfield trio should try to get control of the game as quickly as possible on Saturday. Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff should provide cover from the bench.

Attack

Jacob Murphy’s sensational form over the last couple of months has seen him nail down his spot on the right wing. Anthony Gordon should aim to enjoy a productive outing from the opposite flank, with hitman Alexander Isak leading the Newcastle attack again.

With their pace, power, movement and directness, the Magpies’ front troika could cause Fulham’s defence all kinds of problems.
