Predicted 3-4-2-1 Crystal Palace Lineup vs Millwall | FA Cup

crystal palace lineup

Crystal Palace renew their London rivalry with Millwall on Saturday in the FA Cup fifth round at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles ran out 2-0 winners at Doncaster Rovers to reach this stage, having previously beaten Stockport County by the same scoreline. Oliver Glasner has not shied away from fielding strong line-ups in the FA Cup, and his decision has been duly rewarded.

The South London club have registered back-to-back Premier League wins, including a resounding 4-1 thrashing of Aston Villa in midweek. They will be confident of overcoming Millwall and booking a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Crystal Palace skipper Marc Guehi sustained a minor injury in the win over Aston Villa, although Glasner does not expect the issue to rule him out for Millwall’s visit.

Chadi Riad, Cheick Doucoure, and Joel Ward remain long-term absentees for the Eagles.

Predicted Crystal Palace Lineup vs Millwall (3-4-2-1)

Goalkeeper
Matt Turner has been Palace’s cup goalkeeper and is expected to replace Dean Henderson in the Crystal Palace lineup. He will be aiming to keep a third consecutive clean sheet in the competition.

Defence
Glasner’s positive update on Guehi’s injury means the centre-back could feature alongside Maxence Lacroix and Chris Richards in a three-man defence. With Lacroix occupying the central role, Richards and Guehi will be tasked with defending the wide spaces and thwarting Millwall’s attacking threats.

Midfield
Jefferson Lerma could be handed a start to add physicality to Palace’s midfield, potentially replacing Will Hughes. Adam Wharton, who impressed against Villa, is likely to retain his place alongside Lerma in the middle of the park.

Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell are expected to continue as wing-backs in the Crystal Palace lineup, providing width and stretching Millwall from the flanks.

Attack
Glasner might opt for the creative presence of Daichi Kamada over the pacey Ismaila Sarr, despite the latter scoring twice against Villa. The Japanese playmaker could link up with Eberechi Eze in the pockets, posing a significant threat to Millwall’s defence.

Jean-Philippe Mateta is the favourite to lead the line, although Eddie Nketiah will be pushing for minutes after scoring his first goal for Palace in midweek.
