Trossard & Nelson On The Wings: 4-3-3 Arsenal Predicted XI vs PSV Eindhoven| UCL

arsenal lineup

Arsenal travel to the Netherlands to take on PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday in what will be a Champions League Group B dead-rubber.

Both sides have already entered the pot for the last-16 draw, with the Gunners qualifying as the group winners. They smashed RC Lens 6-0 in their last continental game to extend their first premier European adventure since the 2016-17 campaign and head into the final matchday without any concerns.

However, having seen their six-game winning run in all competitions ended by Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday, Mikel Arteta hopes to see a positive response from his boys at PSV Eindhoven.

Arsenal Team News

Takehiro Tomiyasu (calf), Jurrien Timber (knee), Thomas Partey (thigh) and Fabio Vieira (groin) are all facing at least a few more weeks on the sidelines, whereas Gabriel Martinelli is ill. Bukayo Saka did not travel with the squad to the Netherlands, but Mikel Arteta has played down any injury concerns.

Emile Smith Rowe has made a complete recovery from a knee problem and has travelled with the Arsenal squad to face PSV Eindhoven.

Predicted Arsenal lineup vs PSV Eindhoven (4-3-3)

Goalkeeper

With a game holding no tangible consequences for both sides, Mikel Arteta could give Aaron Ramsdale a chance in goal to get back his confidence. Having helped Arsenal qualify for the Champions League, it is the least the England international deserves.

Defence

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are expected to line up in a 4-3-3 formation. Reuell Walters is among a few academy products to have travelled with the Arsenal squad, and he could be thrown straight into the mix at right-back in the Arsenal lineup.

Jakub Kiwior could operate from the left-back position, with Ben White partnering Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of Arsenal’s defence.

Midfield

The Arsenal boss is expected to give Declan Rice a breather, so Jorginho should ideally come into the side at the base of midfield in the Arsenal lineup. Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz could join Jorginho in the engine room, as the trio look to keep things ticking over for the visitors.

Emile Smith Rowe could feature off the bench after missing six weeks with a knee injury. Academy starlet Ethan Nwaneri could be in for a cameo against the Dutch side.

Attack

With Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli left out of the squad, Reiss Nelson and Leandro Trossard look primed to start on the right and left wing, respectively in the Arsenal lineup. The duo will aim to bring pace, creativity and dynamism from wide areas.

Eddie Nketiah should get an opportunity to lead the Arsenal attack, replacing Gabriel Jesus in the starting XI.
