Rodrigo Over Bamford: 4-2-3-1 Leeds United Predicted XI vs Bournemouth

leeds united lineup

Leeds United are set to face Bournemouth at Elland Road on Saturday, as Jesse Marsch looks to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League.

The Yorkshire outfit ended their eight-game winless run in the Premier League with an outstanding 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield last time out. The victory against Liverpool should have given Jesse Marsch a huge sigh of relief after coming under immense pressure in recent weeks due to a run of poor form and results.

The Leeds boss will hope now his side builds on last game’s brilliant victory when Bournemouth pay a visit to Elland Road.

Leeds United Team News

Rodrigo, Joe Gelhardt, Liam Cooper and Tyler Adams recovered in time from their respective minor injuries and were part of the Leeds United squad that beat Liverpool last time out.

Luis Sinisterra missed out with a foot problem; however, Jesse Marsch remains hopeful that the Colombian winger will return to training this week ahead of the home clash with Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Adam Forshaw (ankle) and Stuart Dallas (knee) should miss the upcoming Premier League game.

Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Bournemouth (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Illan Meslier was outstanding against Liverpool, making some really top saves to help Leeds United win at Anfield. The young Frenchman is a certainty to start in goal.

Defence

In a 4-2-3-1 formation, Liam Cooper should be the leader of the pack in Leeds United’s defence. He should partner Robin Koch at the heart of the backline in the Leeds United lineup, as the centre-back duo aim to contain the towering Kieffer Moore at Elland Road.

Rasmus Kristensen has nailed down his position at right-back, whereas Pascal Struijk will fill in on the other flank as the left-back in the Leeds United lineup. Both the full-backs must stay strong defensively as well as show intent going forward against Bournemouth.

Midfield

Tyler Adams is expected to slot in as the defensive midfielder in the Leeds United lineup, adding a layer of protection in front of the backline whilst providing Marc Roca with the freedom to influence play in the final third. The partnership of Adams and Roca is growing, and Marsch will expect the duo to dominate Bournemouth in the centre of the pitch at the weekend.

Leeds will be hugely dependent on Brenden Aaronson’s creativity and flair from the No.10 position to carve open the Bournemouth defence.

Sam Greenwood and Mateusz Klich will offer cover for midfield positions from the bench.

Attack

Rodrigo opened the scoring against Liverpool, and while he was substituted quickly after the break, he had done enough to warrant a starting berth again in the Leeds United lineup. The Spaniard will lead the line for Leeds, with Jack Harrison and Crysencio Summerville taking up the wide positions.

Summerville must be raring to get himself on the scoresheet again after netting the winner against Liverpool. If Luis Sinisterra attains full fitness, he will join the likes of Patrick Bamford, Wilfried Gnonto and Junior Firpo on the bench.
