Four Changes Expected: 4-3-3 Real Madrid Predicted XI vs RB Leipzig

real madrid lineup

Real Madrid will be looking to seal the top spot in Group F of the Champions League when they travel to Germany to face RB Leipzig on Tuesday evening.

Los Blancos, unbeaten this season thus far, face RB Leipzig off the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Sevilla in La Liga. In Europe, they have won three and drawn one in their first four group-stages fixtures.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side drew 1-1 with Shakhtar Donetsk last time out, but remain at the summit of their group and will head to the Red Bull Arena in high spirits.

Real Madrid Team News

Karim Benzema missed Real Madrid’s win over Sevilla with muscle fatigue and has not been named in the travelling squad for the upcoming Champions League. Federico Valverde, who suffered a minor concussion after the Sevilla game, has been rested.

One of La Fabrica academy’s talents, Sergio Arribas has been included in the squad.

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup vs RB Leipzig (4-3-3)

Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois made a long-awaited return from injury in goal against Sevilla. The big Belgian is set to start again in between the sticks for Real Madrid.

Defence

Carlo Ancelotti will likely rotate his squad in the Champions League as Real have all but secured the first spot in Group F.

The first change could happen in defence, with Antonio Rudiger starting in central defence alongside Eder Militao in the Real Madrid lineup.

This should see David Alaba getting moved out to left-back, while Dani Carvajal keeps his place at right-back in the Real Madrid lineup.

The Real defence must stay on their toes throughout the 90 minutes to stop the RB Leipzig attackers in midweek.

Midfield

There will be alterations in midfield too.

Aurelien Tchouameni was replaced in the 65th minute against Sevilla to keep him fresh and fit for Tuesday’s fixture. The Frenchman should reprise his No.6 role in the middle of the park in the Real Madrid lineup, hoping to help Los Blancos dominate possession against their German counterparts.

Luka Modric, like Tchouameni, was also substituted in the second half of the win over Sevilla. The Croat is indispensable to Ancelotti’s side and should start. Edouard Camavinga will complete Real’s midfield unit, replacing Toni Kroos on the right of the trio.

Attack

With Karim Benzema and Fede Valverde not in the squad, Ancelotti could use Eden Hazard in the false 9 position in the Real Madrid lineup. Should Hazard start, he will look to combine well with his fellow attackers in the final third and cause problems for the Leipzig defenders.

Marco Asensio could get an opportunity to impress. The Spanish international will start on the right flank, with Vinicius Jr. aiming to put in a dazzling display off the left in the Real Madrid lineup.

Rodrygo Goes and Lucas Vazquez may get involved in the latter stages of the game if required.
