Key Change Up Top: 4-3-3 Crystal Palace Predicted XI vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

crystal palace lineup

Crystal Palace will entertain Wolves at Selhurst Park in the Premier League, hoping to get all three points on Tuesday evening.

The Eagles returned home with a point after a listless 0-0 draw with Leicester City at the weekend. Patrick Vieira wouldn’t have been happy with his team’s display at the King Power Stadium, although a point on the road gives the south London outfit a platform to build upon.

Thus, the Frenchman will rightly expect an improved showing from his boys against a manager-less Wolves side.

Crystal Palace Team News

Will Hughes missed the trip to Leicester City due to illness and is likely to miss out once again. Chris Richards, Jack Butland, James McArthur, Nathaniel Clyne and Nathan Ferguson all remain sidelined for Crystal Palace.

Predicted Crystal Palace Lineup vs Wolves (4-3-3)

Goalkeeper

Vicente Guaita produced a couple of good saves to keep a clean sheet at Leicester City. He will be hoping to shut up shop as soon as possible against Wolves.

Defence

Ahead of Guaita, a backline of Joel Ward, Joachim Andersen, Marc Guehi and Tyrick Mitchell could start. The left-back spot has been a cause for worry for the manager but given the lacklustre showing by Schlupp, Mitchell is likely to be stationed there in the Crystal Palace lineup.

Andersen will resume his centre-back partnership with Guehi, with Ward operating from the right-back position in the Crystal Palace lineup.

James Tomkins and Jairo Riedewald should provide cover to the defensive positions for the hosts.

Midfield

Jeffrey Schlupp and Michael Olise are likely to vie for a single spot in midfield in the Crystal Palace lineup. If Viera deems an attack minded midfield too adventurous against a Leicester side, who despite struggling, have been scoring freely, we could see Schlupp take up a spot in the midfield three.

The other two spots are expected to be taken up by Eberechi Eze and Cheick Doucoure.

Doucoure will sit in front of the back four and look to dictate the tempo of the game. His presence at the base of the midfield will allow Eze and Schlupp to make runs in the box and help the team more in transitions.

Michael Olise will be pushing for a start.

Attack

Jean-Philippe Mateta is pushing for a recall to be a part of the attacking trio alongside Wilfried Zaha and Jordan Ayew in the Crystal Palace lineup. A possible Mateta selection up top will see Odsonne Edouard drop to the bench and act as an impact substitute when called upon by Vieira.

Although Zaha was taken off in the 77th minute at the King Power Stadium, the Ivorian is expected to start on the left flank again here. Ayew should once again retain his place on the right of the front three.
