After a hard-fought 3-0 win against Crystal Palace, Liverpool will turn their attention to Norwich City in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

The Reds are one of the form teams in the Premier League as well as Europe right now, and they will hope to do well in the domestic cup competitions as well.

Jürgen Klopp now has a decent enough squad to rotate and do well in the EFL Cup, and we could see several talented players face Norwich City on Tuesday.

The Reds put in a stellar display against the Canaries on the opening matchday of the Premier League, and will be confident of progressing to the next round.

Norwich City have lost all their opening five games in the Premier League but did win the second-round game in the EFL Cup 6-0 when they faced Bournemouth.

Liverpool Team News

Roberto Firmino is not expected to feature for Liverpool on Tuesday as he has just returned to individual training after picking up a hamstring injury against Chelsea.

Thiago Alcantara has also been ruled out as he suffered a calf injury against Crystal Palace. He will not be available for Liverpool’s next two games.

Harvey Elliot has been ruled out for the foreseeable future, and is a long-term absentee.

Both Joel Matip and Joe Gomez did not play against Crystal Palace, and the duo are in contention to face Norwich. Nat Phillips could also get a rare appearance.

Goalkeeper

Alisson could be rested for this clash, so we expect Caoimhín Kelleher to make the Liverpool lineup against Norwich City. The custodian has usurped Adrian as the club’s second-choice goalkeeper.

Defence

Gomez and Phillips could line up at the heart of the defence. Of the five senior centre-backs Liverpool have, only Phillips is yet to feature this season, so he could make the Liverpool lineup.

Kostas Tsimikas and Conor Bradley could start in the full-back positions for Liverpool. Tsimikas played against Crystal Palace, but Klopp could persist with him and keep Robertson fresh for the tricky away trip to Brentford the weekend.

Midfield

Both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are likely to be rested, so Curtis Jones and Naby Keita could make the Liverpool lineup. Keita came off the bench to score a screamer against Palace, and will hope to impress again.

James Milner is expected to feature once again for the Reds, but this time in a defensive midfield role.

Attack

Divock Origi put in a good performance against AC Milan, and he is expected to return to the Liverpool lineup.  Takumi Minamino might also get a chance to feature on the left, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin might start on the right.

Watch out for young Kaide Gordon who might get a few minutes off the bench.
