Barcelona will play their first match after the international break on Tuesday when they host Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The Catalan side’s La Liga game this past weekend was postponed due to the late arrival of some of their players.

The Blaugrana last played on August 29 when they faced Getafe in La Liga and won the match 2-1. The Catalan giants will go into Tuesday’s game at the Nou Camp as underdogs as Bayern Munich have been in terrific form, scoring 13 goals in 4 league games.

The last time these two sides met in the Champions League was in the quarter-finals of the 2019-20 Champions League, where the German side won 8-2.

Team News

Latest reports have indicated that forward Martin Braithwaite may be out for a few months following the injury he sustained in the game against Getafe. He joins the likes of Sergio Aguero and Ousmane Dembele on the treatment table.

Youngster Ansu Fati has returned to training but this game may come too soon, while new signing Luuk de Jong has also linked up with his new teammates and should be available for Tuesday night’s clash.

Right-back Sergino Dest is a big doubt for the game against the German champions, while Jordi Alba also has a knock, but is expected to recover.

Let’s take a look at the possible Barcelona lineup for the huge clash against Bayern Munich.

Predicted Barcelona Lineup vs Bayern Munich

Goalkeeper

Marc-Andre ter Stegen should start in goal for Barca ahead of Neto for the game against Bayern.

Defence

Gerard Pique will start at the back, but it will be interesting to see who Koeman decides to play alongside the experienced defender. Eric Garcia will be available after being suspended for the win against Getafe, while Ronald Araujo, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti are the other options.

Umtiti hasn’t played a single minute for Barca this season and it’s unlikely he’ll start, while Garcia hasn’t been very impressive so far this season. Araujo’s strength, height and physicality could get him the nod. Sergi Roberto should play at right-back, with Alba starting on the opposite flank.

Midfield

Captain Sergio Busquets should play in the base of midfield, with Frenkie de Jong and Pedri playing ahead of him. Riqui Puig could be an option off the bench.

Attack

The injury of Braithwaite and the departure of Antoine Griezmann means that Barca will have a new-look attack on Tuesday. New signing Luuk de Jong could go straight into the Barcelona lineup up top, with Memphis Depay moving to the right. Philippe Coutinho – who scored against Barca when was on loan at Bayern – could start from the left side.
