Real Madrid could make a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba next summer. Pogba, who has been with the Red Devils since 2016, hasn’t yet signed a new contract with the club and could leave on a free transfer next summer.

As per Marca, the Spanish giants are eyeing a move for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, as well as Pogba, next summer.

Mbappe and Pogba will be available on a free transfer next summer, while Haaland’s release clause kicks in next year, when he will be available for a rumoured fee of €75 million.

Pogba has made over 200 appearances for Manchester United since his return to the club, scoring 38 goals and 50 assists.

Paul Pogba to Real Madrid – A top option for the La Liga giants?

Paul Pogba will be hot property next summer when he becomes a free agent and he has been linked with two big European clubs – Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG currently have one of the best, if not the best, squad in European football, while Real Madrid are planning to restructure their team, beginning with the signing of Mbappe.

The signing of the PSG forward will help them become a force to be reckoned with once again, while the addition of Pogba would add depth and quality to the Madrid squad.

Pogba would fit in perfectly in the Real Madrid midfield, which is in need of one new face. The Frenchman could be a long-term replacement for Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, who has been an exceptional servant for the Spanish giants. Modric’s contract expires next summer and it’s unlikely that he will extend his stay at the club beyond that.

Pogba’s success in the French national team is attributed to the presence of a defence-minded midfielder around him, like N’Golo Kante. Real Madrid, too, has a fantastic defensive midfielder in Casemiro, who will provide protection to the backline and give Pogba the freedom to bomb forward.

Toni Kroos’ passing ability will allow Pogba to play closer to the frontman – or frontmen – like Karim Benzema and Mbappe.

Pogba is entering the prime years of his career and with a new-look Real Madrid side being built by President Florentino Perez, the Spanish side could once again dominate the league and Champions League.

He will have a bigger chance of laying his hand on more trophies at Real Madrid next season onwards, than at Manchester United. The French star has previously expressed his desire to play for Real Madrid and a move now seems like the perfect time for him and the club.
