Tottenham Hotspur will look to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season when they host Watford on Sunday.

New Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo has warmed to his task in north London, masterminding back-to-back 1-0 wins over Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Watford, meanwhile, stunned Aston Villa 3-2 in their opener before crashing back down to earth with a 2-0 loss at Brighton.

The last time these two sides met, Troy Deeney missed a penalty in a 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road.

Team News

Son Heung-min limped off with a minor injury against Wolves, but he is expected to be fit in time for the Watford game. Joe Rodon and Cameron Carter-Vickers are both unavailable due to injury.

Moussa Sissoko has completed a move to Watford, while Tanguy Ndombele will not feature amid speculation over his future.

Apart from that, Nuno has a full squad to choose from.

Let’s take a look at the possible Tottenham lineup for the game against Watford:

Predicted Tottenham Lineup vs Watford

Goalkeeper

Pierluigi Gollini, on loan from Atalanta, started in Spurs’ Conference League victory over Pacos, but captain Hugo Lloris will return to the side against Watford. The Frenchman has kept two cleansheets in as many games this season and will look to continue in the same vein.

Defence

Nuno is expected to stick with the same backline that has ensured two shutouts in the league thus far. That means Sergio Reguilon will return at left-back in the Tottenham lineup in place of Ben Davies, who started against Pacos.

Academy graduate Japhet Tanganga will feature at right-back. The 22-year-old was run ragged by Adama Traore last time around and will hope for a much-improved display against Watford.

New signing Cristian Romero started alongside Eric Dier against Pacos, but the Argentine is expected to make way for Davinson Sanchez in the Tottenham lineup.

Midfield

Spurs’ three-man midfield of Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Dele Alli has worked well so far and Nuno will be reluctant to tinker with a winning combination.

Skipp and Hojbjerg will sit deep, allowing Alli the freedom to move up the field and link up with the attackers.

Attack

Son Heung-min has developed into one of the finest wingers in Europe. The South Korean suffered an injury scare in the 1-0 win against Wolves, but should be fit to start on the left flank.

Harry Kane has put to bed speculation over his future and will lead the line for Spurs for at least another season. He marked his return to the starting lineup with a brace against Pacos and will fancy his chances of opening his Premier League account against a shaky Watford defence.

Kane’s return means either Lucas Moura or Steven Bergwijn will have to drop down to the bench. Lucas is more comfortable on the right flank than Bergwijn but the fact that the former played 84 minutes in midweek means that the in-form Bergwijn might well get the nod in the Tottenham lineup.
