Martinelli to Start: Early Team News and Predicted 4-2-3-1 Arsenal Lineup vs Fulham

arsenal lineup

Arsenal had a great week as they won convincingly in both the Premier League and Europa League, and will host London rivals Fulham at the Emirates on Sunday.

The Gunners are six points away from 6th-placed Liverpool and are currently ninth in the league. The last time Arsenal and Fulham faced each other was at the start of the season where the Gunners cruised to a 3-0 victory.

The Gunners have won their last six meetings with the Cottagers, and will head into this game as the firm favourites.

Early Team News

David Luiz, Kieran Tierney, and Martin Odegaard will all miss the game against Fulham at the Emirates, while captain and star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be a doubt.

Aubameyang was recently diagnosed with malaria and missed the last two games. The Gunners have not missed him, though, as they have managed to find the back of the net even without him.

Let’s take a look at the possible Arsenal lineup for the game against Fulham:

Predicted Arsenal Lineup vs Fulham

Goalkeeper

Bernd Leno will start between the sticks for the game against Fulham.

Defence

David Luiz’s injury means that Rob Holding – who has started at the back in the last few games – should start in the heart of the defence. Holding should play alongside Spaniard Pablo Mari in the Arsenal lineup for the Gunners against Fulham. Gabriel is another option for Arteta at the back.

Calum Chambers has played at right-back in the last few games, and has done very well for the Gunners. He could retain his place on the right side.

Granit Xhaka has started at left-back in the last two games following the injury to Kieran Tierney. He could be moved back to midfield, with Cedric Soares starting at left-back.

Midfield

Xhaka, as mentioned above, could move into midfield to play in place of Thomas Partey. Dani Ceballos has been in decent form in midfield and he could start alongside Xhaka.

Predicted Arsenal Lineup vs Fulham

Martin Odegaard’s absence means that either Bukayo Saka or Emile Smith Rowe could start in the No. 10 role for Arsenal against Fulham. Smith Rowe was taken off in the game against Slavia Prague and he could start ahead of Saka behind the striker.

Attack

Bukayo Saka could start on the right side of the attack. Gabriel Martinelli was used as a substitute on the Europa League clash, and he could return to the Arsenal lineup on the left. Nicolas Pepe is another option for Arteta.

Arteta may not start Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following his illness, and with the good form of Alexandre Lacazette, the Arsenal manager could play the Frenchman.
