Long-term Man United Target Could Be Available For The Right Fee: Should Ole Make A Move?

Manchester United have been interested in bringing Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford for a while now. The 21-year old winger is one of the most creative players across Europe. According to Manchester Evening News, Borussia Dortmund are willing to listen to offers for Jadon Sancho this summer.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke recently said that they will talk to the player and his agent if any club submits an extraordinary offer. This is great news for Manchester United who are desperately looking to sign an established right-winger to their squad.

Jadon Sancho had an exceptional campaign last year with the German outfit and while he took time to get going this season, has settled in after the starting blip and has been influential for his team again. In 22 league games, Sancho has found the back of the net six times. He has more assists to his name (9) than any other Dortmund player.

Apart from Manchester United, several clubs will also be looking to sign him. It is set to be a big summer for Borussia Dortmund as many European clubs are circling around Haaland and Sancho, the two most prized assets of the Bundesliga club.

Should Manchester United go after Jadon Sancho one more time?

Currently, Bruno Fernandes is the only player at Old Trafford who is creating chances on a consistent basis for the team. He is second on the list of assist providers in the Premier League this season with 11 assists. He is followed up by Marcus Rashford in the squad who has 7 assists to his name.

Other than these two players, no other Man United’s forward or midfielder has recorded even 5 assists this season. This shows how much dependent the side is on Fernandes and Rashford to provide a spark. If Solskjaer wants his team to put up a strong case for the title next season, he needs creative players. And, who better than Jadon Sancho?

Bruno and Rashford are indispensable commodities for the side. This leaves them with the need to sign a creative player who can occupy the right flank. Sancho’s preferred position is on the right side of the attack. He is an excellent dribbler and can drive to the byline and deliver crosses while also possessing the skill to come infield and have more of a say in the central areas.

While he is not the most defensively astute and there have been question marks over his ability to track back over the 90 minutes, the presence of an excellent Aaron Wan-Bissaka somewhat negates the concern of being defensively light on that flank.

With players like Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho in the same XI, there is bound to be an exponential increase in chance creation and goals which will subsequently lessen the defensive workload on the rest of the team, which can express itself more freely.

If Dortmund are ready to listen to offers, multiple clubs across Europe will show their interest and this may lead to a bidding war as well. Let’s see if the Red Devils can sign the player they chased all summer last year but it is a no-brainer that they should make a concerted effort to sign him this time around as well.
