Marcus Rashford is an injury doubt against AC Milan

Manchester United and AC Milan will face off in the Europa League at Old Trafford on Thursday. Both clubs have a proud history of success in European competitions, and are contenders to win the Europa League this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to win silverware with Manchester United. Despite beating Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, they are still some way behind the Sky Blues in the title race.

Manchester United and AC Milan will meet for the first time in Europa League, and their head-to-head going into this game is even. Both teams have won this fixture five times.

Manchester United Team News

Paul Pogba and David De Gea are both out for the Red Devils. So far, Scott McTominay and Dean Henderson have performed admirably in their absence.

Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani are doubtful for the fixture, along with Marcus Rashford, who suffered an ankle injury in the last match. Luke Shaw seemed uneasy at times against Manchester City, and his participation is also still in doubt.

Goalkeeper

Dean Henderson put in a decent display in the last match. With De Gea still unavailable, we believe Henderson will play in goal once again.

Defence

Harry Maguire is expected to captain the team once again, and could line up alongside Victor Lindelof at the heart of the defence.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alex Telles will be the full-backs. Telles has struggled to get into the Manchester United lineup due to Luke Shaw’s impressive performances. However, the Englishman could get a breather, so Telles will get his chance to shine.

Midfield

Solskjaer may consider Nemanja Matic for the Manchester United lineup as he will want to bring in some form of rotation.

Matic and Scott McTominay could form the midfield pivot, with Fred getting a breather. Bruno Fernandes will play in front of them as an attacking midfielder.

Attack

In the absence of Cavani and Rashford, it is the perfect chance for Martial to take the centre stage. His performance against Manchester City was crucial but, he still lacks the cutting edge to finish off his chances.

Martial needs to use this match to break his seven-game goal drought. Daniel James and Mason Greenwood should complete the Manchester United lineup.
