Havertz as a False 9: Predicted 3-4-3 Chelsea Lineup vs Leeds United

chelsea lineup

Chelsea will travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Saturday, and the Blues will hope to keep their unbeaten run going in the Premier League.

The West London outfit have not lost in their last nine league games, winning six and drawing three in the process.

They are yet to lose under new manager Thomas Tuchel, and have moved into the top four with some solid displays. Chelsea are fourth in the Premier League table and just three points behind Leicester City.

Chelsea won 3-1 in the reverse fixture against Leeds United earlier in the season, and will perhaps head into the game as the favourites.

Chelsea Team News

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has said that the duo of Tammy Abraham and Thiago Silva will be unavailable for the trip to Elland Road.

Let’s take a look at the possible Chelsea lineup for the game against Leeds United.

Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Leeds United

Goalkeeper

Edouard Mendy should start ahead of Kepa for the game against Leeds United.

Defence

Tuchel has stuck to a three-man backline consisting of Cesar Azpilicueta, and two of Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma or Andreas Christensen. We could see the Blues manager go with the trio of Azpilicueta, Christensen and Rudiger at the back.

Reece James should start as the right wing-back in the Chelsea lineup, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is another option. Ben Chilwell should replace Marcos Alonso in the left wing-back position.

Midfield

Leeds United are a side with loads of energy, and they press well. This could prompt Tuchel to bring back N’Golo Kante to the midfield.

The Frenchman will most likely replace Jorginho in the Chelsea lineup. Mateo Kovacic should start alongside Kante in the double midfield pivot.

Attack

Thomas Tuchel has numerous options for the front three for Chelsea. Kai Havertz impressed in the false 9 position against Everton, and we could very well see him continue in that role in the Chelsea lineup.

Mason Mount could play on the left side of attack in place of Callum Hudson-Odoi, while Hudson-Odoi could switch to the right side.

The likes of Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are other options in the wide areas. Olivier Giroud is another option upfront, but he could be saved for the clash against Atletico Madrid next mid-week.
