Everton have had a sensational start to the 2020-21 Premier League season, winning all four of their opening games. The Toffees, who were very active in the transfer window, made a few smart signings by bringing in players with vast experience in European football and they seem to have all gelled well together.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has brought in James Rodriguez, Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure in midfield, while also signing promising young defender Ben Godfrey from Norwich City. They have a team filled with players of Champions League calibre, and Ancelotti also has numerous options to choose from.

The Merseyside club are top of the Premier League table and will have their toughest test till date after the international break when they face neighbours and defending champions, Liverpool.

How could Everton lineup following the addition of new signings? Let’s take a look:

Strongest Everton team with their new signings

Goalkeeper

One area of the pitch where Everton still lack a quality option is perhaps between the sticks. First-choice keeper Jordan Pickford has made too many errors, but despite that, he may play in goal.

Robin Olsen was brought in on loan, and he will give Pickford strong competition for the No. 1 position in the Everton team.

Defence

Ancelotti has more options in central defence following the addition of Godfrey. He now has two young defenders in Godfrey and Mason Holgate, and two experienced defenders in Michael Keane and Yerry Mina. Mina and Keane should be Ancelotti’s first-choice centre-back pairing for the season.

Captain Seamus Coleman should play at right-back, while Lucas Digne, who has had a bright start to the season, should start at left-back in the Everton team. The Italian manager could also call upon exciting young left-back Niels Nkounkou, who has been impressive in the League Cup games.

Midfield

Ancelotti has some excellent options in central midfield this season. New signings Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure should be the first-choice midfielders, with Andre Gomes the third man in the midfield three if we look at the strongest Everton team.

The likes of Tom Davies, Fabian Delph and Gylfi Sigurdsson are other options for the Everton manager.

Attack

Everton’s attack has been exciting to watch, led by English striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has already bagged 9 goals in all competitions this season – 6 of which have come in the league. He should start up front, with James Rodriguez playing off the right in the Everton team and Richarlison drifting in from the left side.

Bernard, Alex Iwobi and young Anthony Gordon are other options for Ancelotti in the wide areas.
