Man United & PSG Among Potential Destinations For Unsettled French Star| Opinion

Barcelona are reportedly keen on selling winger Ousmane Dembele in the January transfer window, to fund the arrival of Lyon attacker Memphis Depay. According to Todofichajes, the Catalan giants will once again try to sell the Frenchman, who has been hit with numerous injuries and fitness issues over the last two years.

Ousmane Dembele was close to leaving in the recent summer transfer window, but a deal could not be thrashed out in the final hours of the deadline day.

Which club could move for Dembele in the January transfer window?

Let’s take a look at 3 potential destinations for Ousmane Dembele

Manchester United

Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Dembele in the summer transfer window. A recent report indicates that Dembele had initially agreed to a deal with the Red Devils, but pulled out in the last minute as he wanted to stay at Barcelona.

The Red Devils could not sign their primary target, Jadon Sancho, and they have now had a slow start to the season. If the Premier League side continue this poor run of form, they could go into the transfer market and sign a big-name player in January, just like they did in the 2020 January transfer window when they signed Bruno Fernandes. There may be a few issues though as United may want to bring him on loan, which Barca were not keen on, while they will have to convince Dembele too.

Liverpool

Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool have stuttered a bit in the season already, and their title defence is in jeopardy. The Reds may also try to bring in a big-name player to give them a boost in the January transfer window and give Klopp more options to choose from, especially in attack.

Mohamed Salah has been in fine form this season but Liverpool don’t have a suitable replacement for him if he gets injured or needs to be rested. With the season set to be jam-packed, Liverpool may need to bring in 1-2 faces to keep the team fresh.

Paris Saint-Germain

PSG have some world-class attackers in their ranks, but one of them could leave in the next year or so. Kylian Mbappe has transformed into a world-class player at the French club, but reports have indicated that he may not sign a new deal with the club, which expires in 2022.

In case the Frenchman decides the leave the club, PSG could line up a move for a talented and exciting winger like Ousmane Dembele. Perhaps a return to his homeland could help him fulfil the great potential he showed when he played for Borussia Dortmund.
