Greenwood To Start: 4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs Brighton & Hove Albion

After their poor display against Crystal Palace in their opening match of the Premier League, the Red Devils have another tricky fixture this weekend when they face Brighton at the Amex Stadium. United brushed aside Championship side Luton Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, winning 3-0.

This weekend’s game against Brighton will be a much tougher fixture for the Manchester club as the Seagulls have defeated United twice in the last five meetings between the two teams. Brighton won their last league game against Newcastle United, winning it 3-0.

Let’s take a look at the possible Manchester United lineup for the game against Brighton:

Early Team News

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not reveal if any of his players were injured in the mid-week win. The long-term absentees are Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, and Sergio Romero. Romero has still not returned to Manchester United training.

Goalkeeper

Dean Henderson made his Manchester United debut against Luton Town and registered a clean sheet. But, the Englishman should drop to the bench with David de Gea taking his place between the sticks in the Manchester United lineup.

Defence

Victor Lindelof was dropped for the mid-week game after his costly errors from last weekend. He may not return to the starting XI immediately as Eric Bailly had a solid game.

Bailly should start alongside Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence. Aaron Wan-Bissaka also returned to the starting XI against Luton Town, playing at right-back. He, too, should retain his place in the Manchester United lineup, while Luke Shaw should hold his place at left-back.

Midfield

Nemanja Matic played his first game of the season and looked good. The Serbian is an important part of the United midfield as he contributes a lot defensively while keeping the game ticking. He could retain his place in the starting XI.

Donny van de Beek played just under 80 minutes against Luton Town in his first start for Manchester United. He could start in midfield in place of Paul Pogba, who was very poor in the game against Palace.

Bruno Fernandes could drop in to play in midfield with van de Beek playing in the No. 10 role. But the positions will be interchangeable if both of them start.

Attack

Mason Greenwood had a good game against Luton Town and he should start on the right side in the Manchester United lineup, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial completing the front three.
