With a deal for Jadon Sancho dragging on at the moment, Manchester United are now targeting other world-class forwards from around Europe and the latest name on their radar is that of Juventus star, Paulo Dybala.
According to Italian news outfit, Tuttosport, Manchester United are now open to making a move for Paulo Dybala, with Juventus showing an interest in exchanging the Argentine to try and land Paul Pogba this summer.
Andrea Pirlo, the new manager at Juventus, reportedly wants Pogba in his ranks for his first season with Old Lady but is this deal a good one for United?
Paulo Dybala’s Quality
Arguably the most popular star in Italy after Cristiano Ronaldo, Dybala has been a more than decent servant for Juventus for over five years now.
Dybala moved to Turin from Palermo after an incredible season in front of goal and did not fail to impress after the move as well. He has 95 goals and 38 assists in 228 appearances for Juventus in all competitions and has played all across the front line, showing his versatility.
A support striker, or an attacking midfielder by trait, the 26-year-old is a gifted footballer with a keen eye for goal. On his day, he can humiliate the best of defenders and can win games for his side, singlehandedly.
His vision, technique and decision making are up there with the best in the game and though he has had his tryst with periodic inconsistencies, Paulo Dybala has shown that he is quick to bounce back and will be a huge asset for any team in England.
Can United Afford To Lose Pogba?
Though the French midfielder missed a great chunk of last season with an injury, Manchester United looked a more dangerous side once Pogba was back in action after the break.
The 27-year-old still remains one of the best midfielders in the game and his budding chemistry with Bruno Fernandes seems mouthwatering, ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils are desperate for Sancho as an option in attack but Dybala could be a more than a prolific alternative in attack.
The Argentine can play anywhere across the front line and will make the work of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial easier in front of goal.
However, United cannot afford to lose the quality of Pogba in the midfield. Losing the World Cup winner will push them into the market for another world-class midfielder and Paulo Dybala does not fill that void.
Sancho may yet remain the first choice transfer target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but if he decides to make a deal for Dybala, it should not include Paul Pogba.
They may have to end up paying a similar price for Sancho and Dybala but who do you think is the better fit for the Red Devils?
