Arsenal’s campaign ended on a staggering high as they secured a 2-1 win over their arch-rivals, Chelsea, in the FA Cup final at the Wembley Stadium earlier today.

The Gunners were taken aback by Christian Pulisic’s goal in the 5th minute but Mikel Arteta’s men responded in a clinical fashion after the first-half drinks break.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted from the spot in the first-half after he won a penalty and then took the game away from Chelsea with his remarkable finish after the break.

Here are our Arsenal player ratings from their monumental win over Frank Lampard’s entourage.

Emiliano Martinez 8/10

The custodian could not have done any better to stop Pulisic from finding the back of the net. Martinez maintained his composure and played out from the back meticulously.

Kieran Tierney 7/10

In all honesty, Tierney should have defended better in the build-up to Pulisic’s goal but apart from that, he was rock-solid at the back.

David Luiz 8/10

Arsenal needed their veteran defender to step up in the big cup final and Luiz did not disappoint. He monitored Olivier Giroud from close quarters and kept him at bay on most of the occasions and produced an assured performance.

Rob Holding 7/10

Although the Englishman had a few nervy moments early on, he settled well once the defensive line regrouped and made 3 vital tackles during the game.

Hector Bellerin 8/10

With his pace and directness, he terrorized Antonio Rudiger by his serial forward runs and played an instrumental role in Aubameyang’s second goal.

Dani Ceballos 8/10

Without any shadow of a doubt, the manner in which the Read Madrid loanee distributed the ball was exemplary. There was no dearth of energy from him as usual and he dominated the midfield with great resolve.

Granit Xhaka 8/10

Like most of the Arsenal players, Xhaka took time to settle but reacted well to intercept Chelsea’s attacking endeavours with immense discipline as the match went on.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles 7/10

It was surprising to see him at the left wing-back position but he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. With a pass accuracy rate of 86%, he linked-up nicely with Aubameyang down the left and helped his side in keeping the possession.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 9/10

The Gabonese caused all sorts of trouble for Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta and eventually went on to win a penalty and convert it with trademark coolness. He was a livewire in the final third and engineered a marvellous goal midway through the second half to help his side clinch their 14th FA Cup.

Alexandre Lacazette 7/10

The Frenchman asked questions of Kurt Zouma every now and then and was unlucky with his delivery to Aubameyang after the interval.

Nicolas Pepe 9/10

His brilliant strike to beat Willy Caballero was ruled offside, which was unfortunate. Nevertheless, he toiled relentlessly throughout the game, completing 2 dribbles and bagged an assist to his name.

Substitutions

Eddie Nketiah 6/10

The young gun brought energy into Arsenal’s attack after he replaced Lacazette late in the game.
