Manchester United will look to make it five wins in five Premier League games later today when they host Southampton at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils will also hope to extend their unbeaten run to 18 games by securing either a win or a draw against the Saints.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could climb up to third in the league if they win against Southampton as both Chelsea and Leicester City lost their respective games.

The last time these two sides faced off in the Premier League, United could only secure a draw, despite playing against 10 men for the last 20 minutes of the game.

Manchester United Team News: The only two players missing from Monday’s game for Manchester United are Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe.

Here, we take a look at the Manchester United lineup for the game against Southampton:

Predicted Manchester United Lineup vs Southampton

Goalkeeper

David de Gea will keep his place as the goalkeeper. Southampton have been in good form, so the Spaniard could be called into action more often than not tonight

Defence

Solskjaer could stick with the same backline of Aaron WanBissaka and Luke Shaw at right-back and left-back, respectively, with Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire playing as the two central defenders in the Manchester United lineup.

Lindelof seemed doubtful for United’s last clash against Aston Villa, but came through the game and played the entire 90 minutes.

Midfield

Manchester United’s midfield has been dominant over the last few weeks, and it will be a surprise if Solskjaer makes any changes.

Paul Pogba should start, with Nemanja Matic playing behind him in the defensive midfield role. Bruno Fernandes, who has been very good since the restart, should play in the No. 10 role.

The only change that Solskjaer may make could be playing Scott McTominay instead of Matic, with a tricky game against Crystal Palace in three days’ time. Fred is also an option for United, but the Red Devils manager may not want to disrupt a winning lineup.

Attack

The front three also could remain unchanged as the trio of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial have been deadly in front of goal. Daniel James and Odion Ighalo are options for Solskjaer out wide and up front, respectively.

An unchanged lineup is expected for Manchester United’s game against Southampton.
