Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could be allowed to leave his current club Lazio, in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old, who has been at the club since 2015, may be allowed to leave, as per Lazio sporting director, Igli Tare. Tare, though, said that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will not be sold for less than his market value, even during this pandemic where football clubs around the world have been hit financially.

It has been revealed that the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing the midfielder.

With a top talent like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic available, which Premier League clubs should look to sign him?

Let’s take a look at 3 clubs who should make a move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic:

Manchester United

Manchester United may be very active in the summer transfer window, as they have been linked with moves for several top players, which includes the likes of Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish. The Red Devils may have one big exit from the club as well, as French midfielder Paul Pogba could finally leave Old Trafford.

If the World Cup-winning midfielder leaves, United will have to sign a replacement for him. Milinkovic-Savic could be the perfect player to replace Pogba in the United midfield. The Serbian is strong and powerful, capable of playing as a defensive midfielder or central midfielder, and has the technical ability to pass and control the tempo of the game, while also burst forward from midfield and add numbers in attack.

Milinkovic-Savic can dominate in the air and would add some bite to the United midfield, while he is also creative going forward thus perfectly complementing the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Fred.

Chelsea

Chelsea, like Manchester United, could lose one of their first-team midfielders, with Jorginho linked with a move to Juventus. The Blues, too, could use a midfielder with bite and energy along with passing acumen in midfield, all qualities that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic possesses. While Mateo Kovacic had a strong 2019-20 season, he was inconsistent at times.

A player like Milinkovic-Savic could give Kovacic more freedom, to go from box-to-box. The Serbian could form a good pairing with N’Golo Kante, who is a genius at retrieving the ball.

Arsenal

Arsenal have, for a long time, not had a strong and tall midfielder in the middle of the park, a-la Patrick Vieira. Milinkovic-Savic could fill that gaping hole in midfield and give Arsenal’s attack-minded players more freedom. With his strong passing – short and long – the Serbian could help Arsenal’s attackers get more opportunities.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal have the funds to make such a big signing. There have been rumblings of the Gunners selling a couple of their star players and affecting a mini overhaul, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette linked with moves away from the club at various points over the last couple of months.

Even if the above two names end up staying at the club, there is expected to be a degree of backing given by the board to Arteta and a signing like the Serie A man could indeed go a long way in balancing the dodgy midfield and defensive relationship in the Arsenal squad.
