Real Madrid now join race for in-demand English sensation: Predicted XI with him

Real Madrid have now entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund winger, Jadon Sancho. The English international has been in spectacular form for the German side over the last two seasons and has attracted the interest of several elite clubs in Europe.

AS have reported that Madrid, along with Manchester United, are interested in the 20-year-old winger while also stating that Sancho’s market value has exceeded €100 million. The report also says that the Spanish giants think of Jadon Sancho as a ‘long-term target’, one they could pursue in the 2021 summer transfer window.

How will they lineup with Jadon Sancho in the team?

Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois should continue as Real Madrid’s first-choice goalkeeper, despite having a rocky 2019-20 season.

Defence

Sergio Ramos will continue to lead the defence and the team from the back, and he will be joined by Raphael Varane in central defence. Marcelo may no longer be the first-choice left-back at Real Madrid following Ferland Mendy’s strong 2019-20 season. Mendy should start ahead of Marcelo at left-back, but Dani Carvajal should continue in his right-back spot.

Midfield

Luka Modric, who has been instrumental in Madrid’s success over the last decade, is nearing the end of his time at Madrid and will not be a regular starter even if he stays on at the club to see out the remainder of his contract.

Paul Pogba has been linked with a transfer to Spain but the pandemic has slowed down talks of any such move. If Madrid do not sign any midfielder, young Uruguayan star Federico Valverde should start in midfield, following solid performances in the 2019-20 season.

Toni Kroos and Casemiro will continue to be the first two picks in central midfield for Real Madrid.

Attack

If Jadon Sancho does end up signing for Real Madrid, he will go straight into the starting XI, to play on the right side of attack. He has shown excellent penetration playing on that side at a time when most young players prefer to play as inverted wingers and cut inside regularly. A move for the player is even more viable given Eden Hazard’s preference to play on the left.

Thus the move is unlikely to disrupt squad dynamics and aid in making Los Blancos more lethal in attack. But the talk of moving for the player in the next summer transfer window is also logical given the options available to Zidane right now.

The likes of Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez, Vinicius and Marco Asensio are other options out wide for Real Madrid, while Gareth Bale is no longer a viable option for a regular role in the team.

Over on the other side, Eden Hazard will start as the left-winger and will hope to have a better second season with the club since his move from Chelsea. Karim Benzema will continue to be Real Madrid’s No. 9.
