Midfield Star To Start: Predicted 4-1-4-1 Leeds United Lineup vs Luton Town

georginio rutter

After an emphatic 3-0 win against Fulham, which took them back to the top of the Championship, Leeds United will host Luton Town on Tuesday.

The Whites have a three-point lead over West Bromwich Albion, who are second in the Championship table, and are a further eight points ahead of Brentford, who are in third.

Leeds are inching closer to promotion to the Premier League, and will be confident of beating Luton Town, who are in the relegation zone.

The last time these two sides met earlier in the season, the Whites won 2-1.

Leeds United Team News: Adam Forshaw and on-loan striker Jean-Kevin Augustin will miss the game against Luton, while goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is still suspended.

Pablo Hernandez played a part in the previous game, and could make the Leeds United XI.

Let’s take a look at the possible Leeds United lineup for the game against Luton Town.

Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Luton Town

Goalkeeper

Young ‘keeper Illan Meslier should continue in goal in the absence of Casilla. The 20-year-old put in a solid performance against Fulham, making four saves.

Defence

Manager Marcelo Bielsa went with the tried-and-tested backline of Luke Ayling, Ben White, Liam Cooper, and Stuart Dallas.

Bielsa might keep the same back four, although Ezgjan Alioski will push for a start after putting in a fine performance last time around. He scored after being brought on by Bielsa.

The manager could maybe rest Dallas for this game to keep him fresh for more important fixtures.

Left-back Barry Douglas also made a late appearance in the previous game, but it is unlikely he will make the Leeds United lineup.

Midfield

Bielsa will be buoyed by the return of Pablo Hernandez, who had a good game after being brought on in the second half.

He could start in place of Tyler Roberts in midfield, who also had a decent game. Hernandez will play alongside Mateusz Klich in midfield. Kalvin Phillips will provide protection to the backline in his defensive midfield position in the Leeds United lineup.

Attack

Jack Harrison had a fabulous game for Leeds United against Fulham, scoring one and setting up another.

The winger, on-loan from Manchester City, should start from the left side of attack, with Helder Costa holding his position on the other wing. Patrick Bamford also got on the score-sheet last time around, and he should keep his place.

Tyler Roberts replaced Bamford in the previous game, and will be an option for Bielsa.
