Arsenal could reportedly make a move for exciting Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, who has impressed in his first season in the Bundesliga.

Diaby joined from French side Paris Saint-Germain, where he played over 30 times in the 2018-19 season.

As per Le10 Sport, Arsenal have been impressed by the 20-year-old’s first season in the German league, while Borussia Dortmund are also looking closely at Diaby.

The report states that Leverkusen may demand around €30 million for the winger, who they signed for €15 million last year.

Leverkusen are in a strong position on the negotiating table as Diaby still has four years remaining on his contract. In his first season, Diaby has so far scored 5 goals and made 8 assists in 27 appearances for Leverkusen in all competitions.

Moussa Diaby To Arsenal – A Smashing move by Arteta?

Diaby – who is left-footed — plays predominantly on the left side of attack, using his pace and dribbling to create openings.

The Frenchman has loads of flair and speed, and likes to take on defenders, beat them and put in crosses into the box or pick out the final pass. Diaby also likes to move into central areas and pops in from time to time to score the odd goal.

The small winger, standing at just 5’7″, uses his short frame well to get away from defenders with quick feints, and has a good balance about him. He has shown great confidence in taking on defenders fearlessly.

So far this season in the Bundesliga, he has averaged 2.8 dribbles per game, while taking 1.4 shots on goal per game. He also likes to play quick, short passes, and can drop deep to build up attacks.

Diaby could be a decent signing for Arsenal, who could use another player on the left side of attack. Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has played off the left for Arsenal this season, but with his future still up in the air, Arsenal must begin the search for a replacement.

Gabriel Martinelli has done well in the opportunities that he has got, but he is still 18 and is too young to be the first-choice winger week in week out.

Diaby has a little more experience, having played in the Champions League for PSG, as well as Ligue 1. At €30 million, Diaby is not too expensive for a young, exciting attacker. The Gunners should make a move for him as he is one for the present and the future.
