5 Premier League Players Who Could Be Available For Free: Chelsea & Man City Stars Feature 1

The amount of money spent in the last few transfer windows in England promises a startling summer transfer window this year.

But not every club will be happy to spend big, as a few clubs across the country will have their eyes on players available on the cheap.

There is also a whole list of players whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the current campaign, who will attract interest from some of the best clubs in the top flight.

Here are five such Premier League free agents that could make a move this summer

David Silva (Manchester City)

Arguably one of the best players in the history of Manchester City, Silva, has not signed an extension and will leave the club at the end of the season. He has won numerous trophies in his decade long stay in England. While he has not been able to play at his impossibly high standards every three days, his quality has been on display this season as well. He is one of the most decorated players in the league and will have no shortage of suitors, even though a move to MLS looks likely right now.

Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur)

Though 32 now, the Belgian defender still remains one of the most consistent in the league. Vertonghen can play as a centre-back or even at left-back and is currently struggling to break into the first team under Jose Mourinho. He has shown no signs of extending his deal with Tottenham Hotspur and could be a free agent in a few months. There will be a host of clubs in England, who will look to sign him and his experience in the summer.

Adam Lallana (Liverpool)

A Champions League winner and a to-be Premier League winner, Lallana is currently finding game time hard to come by at Anfield. Though Lallana is a perfect player for Jurgen Klopp’s system, the midfielder is now 31, and the manager is already on the lookout for possible replacements. He is also one of the highest earners at Liverpool, which could make him an expensive free agent but his experience will certainly attract suitors across the country.

Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth)

The only player on this list that is yet to hit his prime, Fraser has surprisingly yet to extend his deal with the Cherries and is odds on to leave the club. Arsenal have previously been linked with the player and though Bournemouth will surely offer him an extension, Fraser currently has just months left on his contract. At 25, the Scot is not just a squad option but can also win games on his own, as he has shown previously under Eddie Howe. Surely, he could be one of the most sought after players in the transfer window this year.

Olivier Giroud (Chelsea)

A world cup winner recently, Giroud is currently playing for Chelsea but Frank Lampard’s team selection makes it clear that the French striker has no real future in London. He may be tempted to move out of England but Giroud has plenty of experience to offer and could still be a huge asset for clubs across the country. Like Lallana, he could be a tad expensive for his wages but will certainly improve most teams in the Premier League with Italy also a viable option.
