Chelsea failed to close the eight-point gap to Leicester City as they could only hold on for a 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium.
Like earlier in the season, Chelsea started the game strongly but allowed Leicester back into the game, thus ensuring a thrilling 4-goal game.
Antonio Rudiger opened the scoring with a towering header just after half-time but the London Blues saw themselves behind pretty quickly with goals from Harvey Barnes and Ben Chilwell. Rudiger came to their rescue with another sumptuous header with Leicester City missing two good chances late on.
Let’s take a look at how the Chelsea players fared.
CHELSEA PLAYER RATINGS
Willy Caballero- 5
Had a decent first half with a big save of Jamie Vardy and was unlucky with the first goal.
But had a shocker for the second, going for an untimely noon walk which is likely to see Kepa Arrizabalaga slot straight back in the next match.
Reece James- 7
Excellent crossing in the first half with Tammy Abraham missing an easy opportunity. Was shackled in the second half and saw his influence wane.
Andreas Christensen-7
Decent game. Kept Jamie Vardy quiet but struggled to keep up with the Leicester attacks late in the second half.
Antonio Rudiger-9
Scored two sumptuous headers with the first giving his side the lead and the second one levelling the score. Was authoritative while defending as well.
Cesar Azpilicueta-6
Got down the left flank with regularity in the first half but like the rest of the team, was pegged back in the second.
N’Golo Kante-8
Close to being his best version. Was all over the pitch, breaking up play and going on the attack.
Could have done slightly better after getting in good positions a couple of times but overall, immense.
Jorginho-6
Average game. Didn’t manage anything special and was booked in the second half.
Callum Hudson-Odoi-5
Sporadic bursts in the first half with the final product missing but really struggled in the second half.
Mason Mount-6
Average all-round play with nothing noteworthy from open play. Short on confidence in front of goal but made amends with two excellent deliveries for Rudiger’s brace.
Pedro-6
Good first half. Tried to make things happen but like many others in the Chelsea team, failed to continue the momentum in the second half.
Tammy Abraham-4
Clearly not in his prime fitness condition. Missed from a fine Reece James cross in the first half before fading away completely in the second half.
SUBSTITUTES
Willian-4
Nothing noteworthy playing in a central position in place of Abraham.
Mateo Kovacic-6
Showed energy and the impression of a player in form. Should have started.
Ross Barkley- 5
No chance to impress.
