Arsenal have reportedly been linked with a move for Liverpool ace Adam Lallana, who will be a free agent come the summer.

Lallana has struggled for regular playing time this season at Liverpool, and has managed to start just three games for the Reds in the Premier League.

As per Daily Mail, Arsenal will compete with Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City for the England international in the summer transfer window.

Although he has made 13 appearances, a lot of them have been cameos off the bench. He has managed to stay fit this season, unlike previous campaigns.

Still only 31, he has a lot more top-flight football let in him, and his adaptability could come in handy for Arsenal as he has been deployed in a new role this season by Jürgen Klopp.

Adam Lallana to Arsenal – A shrewd move in the offing

Arsenal’s midfield is in dire need of some energy and work-ethic, but those alone might not be enough.

The kind of football that Arteta wants to implement requires technical midfielders who can do everything with the ball, and Lallana fits the bill.

Although he has been hampered by injuries in recent seasons, the former Southampton star has managed to adapt his game as a deeper midfielder this season, which has resulted in him staying fit and getting more playing time compared to previous seasons.

Many tend to forget that Lallana was a key cog in Klopp’s system when the German first arrived at Liverpool. Lallana’s dynamism, ability to press, and exceptional technical ability meant he was at the heart of everything the Reds did in the initial days of Klopp’s tenure.

Lallana would fit in the present Arsenal midfield and would do well alongside a defensive-minded midfielder. Arsenal have more often than not struggled to play the ball out from the back, and that’s where someone like Lallana can help the team.

He has won the Champions League, and the Club World Cup, with Liverpool and will soon have a Premier League winner’s medal as well.

Arsenal could do with a player with a winning mentality in their team as they have struggled for confidence and need players with a stronger mentality at the club.
