Premier League side Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Ajax’s attacker Hakim Ziyech in the summer.
The Moroccan international has been in spectacular form over the last few seasons, which has led to interest from several clubs.
As per ESPN, the Blues want to sign the 26-year-old creative player in the summer, as Frank Lampard will be given the funds to rebuild the team.
According to the same report, Manchester United are also interested in signing him. Ziyech has been with Ajax since 2016, having joined the club from Twente, and played an integral role in the side’s Eredivisie and Champions League form last season.
Ziyech’s current deal with Ajax expires in 2022, and it’s unlikely he will sign an extension any time soon. The 26-year-old has played 159 games for the club, scoring 48 goals and assisting 82 goals.
Hakim Ziyech – The attacking edge Chelsea need
Ziyech is a technically-gifted and talented attacker who can play in multiple positions and in different roles. Primarily a right-winger who likes to cut into central areas, Ziyech can also play in the No. 10 role behind the striker and has even played as a central midfielder.
Quick, full of tricks, and with great vision to play through balls and long balls, Ziyech is an all-round player that can get into most sides in Europe.

The Dutch-born Moroccan international is a hard-working player that can do a lot of things with and without the ball, and would be a great addition to Chelsea.
With both Willian and Pedro’s contracts set to expire at the end of the season, Ziyech could be a readymade replacement, playing on the right-hand side of Chelsea’s attack. He could provide competition to Callum Hudson-Odoi and would make the Blues significantly better.
His ability to make plenty of assists, and the good form of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham will excite Chelsea fans.
Ziyech is a fantastic player who could blossom under Frank Lampard, who has put out teams that like to attack and play on the front foot.
He is the kind of player who would fit in well, and Chelsea should make a move for him to try and narrow the gap between themselves and Liverpool.
