Attacking Star To Return | Predicted 4-2-3-1 Arsenal Lineup vs Burnley

arsenal lineup

Arsenal had a decent January, having managed to remain unbeaten in their six matches in all competitions, and they will hope to take that momentum into February.

The Gunners face Burnley on Sunday at Turf Moor, and they need a win to keep in touch with the other clubs aspiring to get European football next season.

In the reverse fixture, Arsenal won the game 2-1, courtesy of goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Mikel Arteta’s side will have a tough game at Turf Moor, with Sean Dyche’s men defeating both Leicester City and Manchester United in recent games.

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal still have several players out due to injury, with the likes of Calum Chambers and Kieran Tierney set to miss the game. Sead Kolasinac could maybe return, but will have to pass a late fitness test.

Arsenal’s new signing, defender Pablo Mari, is unlikely to feature as he is still getting used to his new surroundings.

Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and central defender David Luiz should both return to the Arsenal squad following their spell out due to suspension.

Let’s take a look at the possible Arsenal lineup for the game against Burnley:

Predicted Arsenal Lineup vs Burnley

Goalkeeper

Bernd Leno should return to the Arsenal lineup after sitting out the FA Cup game against Bournemouth on Monday.

Defence

Arteta may not risk throwing Mari into the thick of things so early into his Arsenal career. David Luiz should return to the defence, playing alongside Sokratis, with Mustafi dropping out of the team.

Bukayo Saka has been in fine form at left-back and he should retain his place in the Arsenal team if Kolasinac is not fit enough. Hector Bellerin should also retain his place in the Arsenal XI at right-back.

Midfield

Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira should start in the defensive midfield roles for the Gunners. Mattéo Guendouzi is another option in that role, having started the game against Bournemouth in the FA Cup.

In the No. 10 role, Mesut Ozil should reclaim his place, replacing Joe Willock.

Attack

Aubameyang will most likely go straight into the Arsenal lineup, but it will be interesting to see who drops to the bench.

Gabriel Martinelli has been in good form and Arteta may retain him in the left-sided role, with Aubameyang replacing Lacazette up top. Nicolas Pepe should keep his place on the right.
