The Premier League has seen some fantastic attackers in this decade, with some of the best in the world coming to the shores of England to showcase their talent.

The decade has seen fantastic attackers like Eden Hazard, Sergio Aguero, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexis Sanchez, Wayne Rooney, Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, to name a few.

With 2020 nearly here, we take a look back at the top 5 attackers from the current decade.

Honourable mentions: Gareth Bale, Robin van Persie, Riyad Mahrez, Mohamed Salah

Top 5 Premier League attackers from the decade

#1 Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero has scored more goals than any other player in the Premier League this decade, with 173 goals for Manchester City. He also managed an impressive 52 assists in the process.

The Argentine’s arrival at the Etihad in 2011 helped City win the league title, and he then helped the club three more league titles.

Aguero’s pace, movement, and exceptional finishing skills have tormented defences all around the Premier League, and he will go down as not just a Manchester City legend but a Premier League great.

#2 Harry Kane

Harry Kane has been one of the best English players of the decade, as the Spurs striker has become an important figure for club and country.

The 26-year-old has already scored 134 goals in the Premier League, and he could be one player who could break Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record of 260 goals.

Kane has developed into a lethal finisher in and around the box, as well as a leader, and is one of the most feared strikers in the league.

#3 Jamie Vardy

Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy played together at Leicester City, while Kane was on loan at the Foxes, when they were in the Championship in the 2012-13 season. But, no one would have predicted that Leicester would go on to win the Premier League just a few seasons later.

One of the key individuals in Leicester’s dream 2015–16 season was Vardy, who scored 24 goals in that title-winning season, guiding the Foxes to the title.

His electric pace and never-say-die attitude has worried and annoyed defences over the last few seasons, and it seems that he will end the 2010s with a bang, having scored over 15 goals in the first half of the season.

#4 Eden Hazard

Chelsea are one of four teams to win the Premier League in the 2010s – the first coming in the 2014–15 season, followed by a win in the 2016–17 season.

One player who was instrumental in both titles wins is Belgian winger Eden Hazard, who currently plays for Real Madrid.

Hazard ended his Chelsea career with 85 goals and 61 assists – 30 of those goals coming in the two title wins combined. On his day, the Belgian was unplayable, with his close control, dribbling and creativity troubling opposition defences.

The former Lille star showed he could play as a winger or even as a false nine during his spell at Chelsea, and hence makes this list.

#5 Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez almost single-handedly helped Liverpool win the Premier League title in the 2013-14 season, when they ultimately fell short by a couple of points.

The Uruguayan scored 69 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League, with his last season being the best, where he managed 31 goals in the league. He almost took Liverpool to the title, as they lost narrowly to Manchester City.

In his brief spell at Merseyside, Suarez transformed the Liverpool team into a strong force, one that could pick apart teams and challenge for the title.
