Key Change In Midfield | Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Huddersfield Town

After a superb 4-0 win against Middlesbrough last weekend, Leeds United will face Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.

The Whites are second in the Championship table, two points behind West Bromwich Albion. Leeds are five points ahead of Fulham, and will hope to open up a bigger gap and secure their grip on second of the two automatic promotion spots.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be well-rested after receiving a week-long break and will hope to register yet another win in the league.

Early Team News: Kalvin Phillips will miss the game due to accruing five yellow cards. Adam Forshaw and Tyler Roberts are both doubts for the game as both players have suffered injuries.

Jamie Shackleton could return to the squad, if not the Leeds United team.

Let’s take a look at the possible Leeds United lineup for the game against Huddersfield Town.

Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Huddersfield

Goalkeeper

Kiko Casilla will continue in goal for Leeds United for the game against Huddersfield. The Spaniard had a commanding game against Middlesbrough, and is high on confidence at the moment.

Defence

There could be one change at the back as Marcelo Bielsa could move Ben White to midfield to replace the suspended Kalvin Phillips, which means that Gaetano Berardi will step into the defensive role. He will play alongside captain Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling at the back.

Midfield

Phillips’ absence in the Leeds team will be a huge blow for Bielsa as the midfielder is one of the most important players in the team.

Bielsa hinted that he could move White to a defensive midfield role to replace Phillips in the Leeds United lineup.

Mateusz Klich scored a brace against Middlesbrough last time around and he will start in midfield, while Stuart Dallas will also get a start, playing from the right side.

Pablo Hernandez will also retain his place in the team, playing in the attacking midfield role that he played in last weekend as well.

Attack

We could see an unchanged attack for Leeds this weekend against Huddersfield. Patrick Bamford scored last weekend, taking his tally to 7 goals in the Championship this season.

Bamford will start as the striker for the team, with Jack Harrison and Helder Costa lining up on the left and right respectively in the Leeds United lineup. Costa scored Leeds’ third goal last weekend, and he will hope to keep that good form going.
