Key Change In Midfield | Predicted 4-3-3 Chelsea Lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur

chelsea lineup

Chelsea travel to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur later today, and will hope to change their recent run of poor form, having lost four of their five Premier League games.

After a six-game winning run in the league, the Blues lost to Manchester City last month, before losing three of the subsequent four games.

Three points separate Chelsea and Spurs in the league, and another loss will see them drop out of the top four.

The last time Chelsea and Tottenham faced each other, the Blues won the game 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea Team News

Central defender Fikayo Tomori and striker Olivier Giroud missed the last game against Bournemouth, but they are ready to return to the Chelsea squad for the trip to Spurs.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is still out of action due to his long-term injury.

Let’s take a look at the Chelsea lineup for the game against Tottenham:

Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur

Goalkeeper

Kepa should continue in between the sticks for the game against Spurs. He could have a busy game as Jose Mourinho’s side have been in good form.

Defence

Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma have started the last two games – the win against Lille in the Champions League and the loss to Bournemouth in the league. The duo should continue be the preferred defensive pairing in the Chelsea lineup.

Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori are two other options at the back for the Blues against Mourinho’s side.

Reece James could be brought back into the team, replacing Emerson in the Chelsea lineup. This could see captain César Azpilicueta move to the left-back slot, James starting at right-back.

Midfield

N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Mason Mount started in midfield for the game against Bournemouth, but we could see Lampard make a few changes in the middle of the park.

Mount could drop to the bench and be replaced with Mateo Kovacic in the Chelsea lineup.

Attack

Christian Pulisic’s form has dipped since October when he had a good run in the Chelsea team. But, Pulisic could retain his place in the side, starting from the left.

Tammy Abraham should retain his spot in attack. Willian could also retain his spot on the right side, but Lampard has options like Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
