In Freddie Ljungberg’s first game as the manager of Arsenal, the north London based outfit could muster just a single point from their trip to the Carrow Road.
Norwich City took the lead twice, thanks to a goal each by Teemu Pukki and Todd Cantwell but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled the score on both the occasions.
Here are our Arsenal player ratings from what transpired yesterday.
Bernd Leno 8/10
The custodian once again showcased his brilliance in goal as he pulled off some spectacular saves to keep Arsenal in the game. He made as many as 6 saves and there wasn’t too much he could have done with either goal.
Calum Chambers 4/10
Chambers was caught out of position on a number of occasions as he overcommitted himself forward. Although he fared well offensively, he let his side down in the defensive side of things.
Shkodran Mustafi 4/10
Called into action for the first time in the Premier League this season, Mustafi was far from convincing. He struggled against Pukki and couldn’t really shut down spaces, which allowed Norwich City’s attackers to have a go at Leno.
David Luiz 4/10
The Brazilian ceded a lot of ground to the opposition and was at fault for Pukki’s goal. A lot more was expected from him against a side who find themselves in the relegation zone.
Sead Kolasinac 7/10
He marauded forward time and again and linked up with Mesut Ozil in a meticulous manner down the left. He mustered 2 tackles and made 2 successful dribbles piling the pressure on Max Aarons.
Granit Xhaka 6/10
Although the game bypassed him in midfield at times, his distribution was impressive. He carved a pass success rate of 91% but should have shown more intelligence further up the pitch.
Matteo Guendouzi 7/10
Guendouzi was energetic, mobile and struck a good balance between his defensive and offensive duties. Hardly lost possession and showed a desirable level of commitment.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 8/10
The 30-year-old continued his streak of bailing out his side and was the only attacker who came out of the game with any credit. Was slightly lucky with his penalty and was at hand to smash home the second equaliser in the second half.
Joe Willock 6/10
10/10 for effort but did not stand out with his gameplay. Faded in the second half as his inexperience showed.
Mesut Ozil 7/10
Ozil was appealing to watch in the first half as he created 4 chances, causing a plethora of problems for Christoph Zimmermann and Ben Godfrey. But continuing tradition, could not keep it up throughout the match.
Alexandre Lacazette 5/10
Was a peripheral figure throughout with very limited touches on the ball.
Substitutions
Lucas Torreira 5/10
He was not as solid as the manager would have liked after coming on.
Bukayo Saka 5/10
Saka brought some fresh energy but he was outmuscled by the opposition defenders quite easily.
Gabriel Martinelli NA
