Jose Mourinho will manage Tottenham Hotspur for the first time in the Champions League on Tuesday night when his side face off against Olympiacos.
Spurs are second in the group B with seven points from four games, but will need a win to confirm their entry to the knockout phase of the Champions League.
Their opponents for Tuesday haven’t won a game in the Champions League this season yet, and the north London side will be big favourites to win the game.
Mourinho guided Spurs to a 3-2 win against West Ham United in his first game, and the fans will hope the side can repeat the result, albeit with a more clinical defensive display. Having reached the final last season in the competition, the fans will hope someone opf Mourinho’s pedigree will help them jump the final hurdle.
Tottenham Hotspur Team News
Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm are set to miss the game as both goalkeepers are out with injuries. Ben Davies could be a doubt after being substituted in the clash against West Ham.
Erik Lamela and Jan Vertonghen are also most likely to miss the game, while Tanguy Ndombele could return to the squad.
Let’s take a look at the Tottenham side that could start for the game against Olympiacos:
Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Olympiacos
Goalkeeper
Paulo Gazzaniga should start in goal for Spurs due to the absence of Lloris.
Defence
Mourinho could perhaps stick to the same defensive partnership of Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sánchez for the Champions League game, while Juan Foyth is an option too.
Danny Rose should start in place of Ben Davies at left-back, while Serge Aurier will start at right-back in the Tottenham Hotspur lineup.
Midfield
In midfield, Ndombele may not be fit enough to start, but he could make the Spurs squad if not the Tottenham Hotspur lineup.
Mourinho could stick to the midfield duo of Eric Dier and Harry Winks in midfield, with Dele Alli playing ahead of him in the attacking midfield role.
Moussa Sissoko, Christian Eriksen and Giovani Lo Celso are other options in midfield and the attacking midfield positions for Spurs. We could perhaps see one of them start if Mourinho wants to give an opportunity to them.
Attack
Sissoko could perhaps start on the right, in place of Lucas Moura, while Son Heung-min should feature on the left in the Tottenham Hotspur lineup. Harry Kane will start as the central striker for Spurs in the game against Olympiacos.
